New C14 needs my normal mods . Cee Bailey, throttlemiester, and risers.
When trying to install my throttlemiester on my Connie I have some concerns. The throttle tube has another tube that holds the heating elements. TM says to cut tube, But afraid of damaging heater. tried fitting without friction and it works but not thrilled about it. Can get the friction tube about half way on between heater and throttle tube.
Thought about cutting friction ring by about half.
Curious how other guys with 2011's have installed them
on another note during break in did temp run a bar over half? never had tach past the 4k. Seems hot to me. but only 50 miles so far
Thanks,
JD

I installed the throttlemiester on my 2010, had to remove two small spacers and leave the larger one. then used the friction on the grip and left the friction ring off.

You won't be happy if you leave the friction ring off.
1. Lube the outside of the friction ring with a little wet bar soap.
2. Pry the end of the grip with a screwdriver, work the friction ring under it, and push it in. Use the Throttlemeister itself as a push in tool if you need.
Piece of cake.

Thats how I installed mine too.

:o maybe this makes more sense if your looking at the parts... I dont have mine yet.

That's pretty much how I installed mine, and works great. Yes, using the friction ring would have been better, but using the factory grip still works pretty good IMO. Just used it today, and works as advertised.

I rolled the rubber back and slid the ring on, no problem on my 2010.

Done using the friction ring and the advise of the using the TM as the press! Thanks everyone for the input
