I have the top rack.  I used it on my FJR1300 and moved it over to the Connie.  I dont have pictures right now, but will get some taken later.  It was great for light items like a tent or bedroll.  It also worked for drying items like gloves when moving down the road.  Will post pictures later.

I have the top rack on the E52 - looks very similar to the photos of the top rack on the E55.  Easy install, and seems to be fairly sturdy even though it is attached to plastic (i.e., the top case).  I use it only for light stuff, but it comes in handy.

Keep in mind the grab-rails are made of plastic, add a huge trunk filled with stuff and then a rack on top and you can easily exceed the posted weight limit of 22 Lbs.

I have a Givi 55 with the luggage rack on top of it. It works pretty well for large, bulky but light items like shoes.

I did not use the instructions or template to mount it though- I thought that was the difficult way to go about it. I just put the rack on the box where it should go, penciled circles around each of the four feet and then drilled holes in the centers of the penciled in circles. That method worked fine, was fast and easy and I think it was easier to drill through the case from the outside than it would have been to do so from the inside.

I was looking for some pictures for a C14 with a Maxia E55 installed and ran into this...

I actually never realized the grab rails are made of plastic... I have the E52 mounted on my 08 with almost 40K miles and I have to say that I always load that trunk and put another bag on top of it. I never thought of breaking anything with loaded trunk, bad, and wifey leaning on it...

It isn't the grab rails you need to worry about....it's the plastic sandwich carrier on the back.
