Title: Problem with Sargent seat
Post by: Gsun on September 17, 2011, 07:04:37 PM
I just bought a Sargent with pod and it is really hard to get it on the bike. Is there a trick I am missing or is that just the way they are?

I know that with the low version I have to slightly arch the seat to get it to lock properly.  It is as if it is about a 1/4 inch too long.  But pulling up in the middle of the seat slightly seems to work each time.

That is what I did. Arch the seat, push down on the rear to lock it in and then push down in the middle to get the hooks to engage.

I just bent the rear bracket ever so slightly forward, problem was solved.

That is just the way they are.  I have the same exact problem and even commented to them about it.  Otherwise, I really like the thing.  Thankfully, I very rarely have to remove the seat.

Seems I have to "bend" the seat a bit when putting it on.  I also tried to bend the locking bracket a tad, which helped some... can't remember exactly what I did.

I bent the rear bar that locks into the bike, but still had to push the rear of the seat forward when mounting it on the bike.
