My Connie came with Throttlemeister bar ends installed. After more than 1000 miles with them I definitely do not like them and I am removing them.
I was hoping to try out the bar ends that I have on my Buell and see if they would help reduce the vibes on the Connie but with the Throttlemeister ends removed I am not sure they can be installed.
The bar ends screw into the piece shown in the first pic below at the end of the bar. Is this piece part of the Throttlemeister kit? Whether it is or not can it be removed and reinstalled?
The second pic is the stock bar end on the end of the bar, it does not fully seat.
The third pic is of the bar ends side by side. Stock, Throttlemeister, and HVMP from my Buell.
Anyone have any insight that might help me out here?

I cant answer your question, but have one for you. Are you going to sell the TM? Always wanted to try one. Good luck.

If I remember correctly, that part is not part of the TM.

Speaking of my '08, the stock bars end in a simple flat cutoff. they are bar stock cut off and slightly chamfered to break the corner, and a threaded hole 10 mm X 1.25 mm. What you have pictured must be part of something else. This photo shows the stock bar-end on a stock bar, nothing between them. this is mine with the TM friction insert (black portion) before adding the ends:

Thanks for the replies. Your pics look different than my bars. Mine is a 10 with the heated grips, I guess the bars a little different.

The bulge on the end is where the TM is between the grip and the throttle. If you were to take the bolt out and peel the grip back it should come right off. May have permanently stretched the grip though. I hope I said this clearly.

Thanks for the reply Red. I was able to remove the friction sleeve with no problem, you are correct about it stretching the grip permanently though.
That bulge is one of the reasons why I removed the Throttlemiesters. I ride with a Throttle Rocker and that plus the bulge was huge.

I have a 2010 too and my bar ends look like that. When I installed my TM I never installed the friction sleeve because it was a pita to get in there. So far I have about 5k miles on them like that and have no problems with slippage. YMMV.
