My 09 has stock pegs but I find that I have to raise my boot kind of high to shift gears, can the shifter be moved down some and how do I go about doing it?

On the shift bar there are two nuts, one is reversed thread. Take two 10mm open end wrenches and loosen both nuts. Take the middle bar and spin it, not sure if clockwise or CCW but turning that bar will move the shifter up or down. Get it to where you want it, then tighten the nuts back and go ride ;)

DANG Jerry! That was about as succinct and simple as it gets! Having done this a few times I was processing the procedure, and thinking about the instructions. It's not a difficult job by any stretch, but you described it perfectly!

Joe,
The shifter is easy compared to the brake pedal. I had to lower my brake pedal enough to
match my other bikes. Had to remove the rear master cylinder. :(

No, not if the only thing adjusted is the turnbuckle, which is what the above posters are talking about. There is an additional way to adjust the shifter lever placement and that is by rotating the clamp around on the shifter input shaft, just like in the olden days when that was the only way to adjust the lever. If you happen to run out of turnbuckle adjustment you can always jump one or two teeth on the input shaft but the shifter works best if the input to the shifter shaft is as close to 90 degrees as possible.
