after 4700 miles the front stock BT 021 started stepping out with resulting sphincter-tightening activity even though tread looked OK (was watching the rear that clearly was within 1000 miles of needing to be replaced). Rode about 250 miles in the N GA mountains today - the PR2s are MUCH more smooth and grippy than the BT 021s - so far so good - now we will see about endurance.

Those are my observations as well. I may try the 55 rear profile next time but honestly the OEM 50 profile handles quite well.

I had two sets of PR2s in the 50 series sidewall. I now have about 1000 miles on the 55's and every weekend I ride I comment to my friend that I'll never go back. To me the difference in going from the 50 to 55 on the PR2's is just as much of an improvement as going from the Bridgestones to the PR2's. I pushed them really hard in a lot of turns yesterday and I can't get over how much they inspire me to keep pushing them. Not that I really needed a reason, but as I told my friend yesterday, they make me feel invincible.

I had two sets of PR2s in the 50 series sidewall. I now have about 1000 miles on the 55's and every weekend I ride I comment to my friend that I'll never go back. To me the difference in going from the 50 to 55 on the PR2's is just as much of an improvement as going from the Bridgestones to the PR2's. I pushed them really hard in a lot of turns yesterday and I can't get over how much they inspire me to keep pushing them. Not that I really needed a reason, but as I told my friend yesterday, they make me feel invincible.
I wouldn't go quite that far, but they are very confidence inspiring. I will also never go back to a 190/50 after running a 190/55.

:yikes: my rear went 4000-4500 and front 6500 miles the last few sets of pr2s. on the 023's now and the feels is great.

Another believer. I put a PR2 55 on this weekend. The rear leans with the front now instead of lagging. Good stuff.

Last week (at 3000 miles) I took off the stock 021's and installed the PR2's front and rear, with the 190/55 on the back. I CANNOT believe how much different the bike feels now. My arms are getting much less of a workout now since I don't have to fight the bike to get it to lean over and stay leaned over in a corner. It just "happens."
As a side note, the 190/55 is enough taller than the half-worn 190/50 021 that you should crank your headlights a couple turns higher before your first night ride so you're not confused trying to figure out why you can't see! :-\

I've got 6000 Miles on my original skins and while I notice the difference when they were new. But not so much that I'm uncomfortable. I'm surprised at how many people replace these Bridgestones so early. I'm not looking to switch until the beginning of next season since the riding season is so short in the NE. I don't see the advantage of switching just to store the bike for the winter. It' can sit on the old rubber until spring.

I replaced my 021s with a set of PR3's about a month ago. Been very happy with them in the dry, and even happier with them in the wet. Got caught in a gully washer last week with spots of at least a half inch or more of water flowing across the road. Doing almost 50 mph on the straight, I didn't even notice a difference in handling on the bike, and taking low speed turns was no concern either. Even saw about a 1 to 2 mpg increase as well! Couldn't be happier with them.

In my case I switched because I planned to undertake an 8,200 mile tour and did not want to be forced to find replacement tires for my 021's enroute. The PR2's performed as promised, I completed the tour and still have perhaps 1,500-2,000 miles remaining both front and rear. When it's time I'll put my OEM 021's with only 1,500 miles on them back on. When those go though I'll go to PR2's permanently, or if not available, to the PR3's.

I guess with 6K miles + plenty of tread, and the winter coming up I'll jump on Michelin's next spring. I won't be riding this winter. The last 3 years in a row we've had record cold and snow. Looks like more of the same this year.

I burned through my stock tires a couple of weeks ago. I got ~4500 miles out of them. I wore the edges flat after a long day of corners. The center part still has a little tread but it's like ridding on a mountain bike sized tire. Luckily, I have another set of stock tires that I bought from someone to hold me over until next season. I plan on getting some PR2's or 3's then...

Just got my PR2's , few hundred miles on them, WOW! what a difference with regard to the Stock tire. I was impressed with the Avon storm 2's I put on the Meanie and I have been going back and forth the last thousand miles between the 2 bikes. The COnnie has me carving up corners and riding in rain with confidence I did not yet feel on the tourer with the stock tire. The confidence I felt with the Avons on the Meanie is now echoed with the PR2's on the pavement eater.

Now at 400 miles on the PR2s - and today was the clincher - did a run with TONS of tar snakes on it that previsously had the BT 21s squirming all over the place. The PR2s never even noticed the tar snakes - they corner liake a cat on carpet (and I should know with three cats....)!
