Title: Anyone gotten a Sergent seat via Amazon?
Post by: katata1100 on August 15, 2011, 10:04:31 PM
I was checking there and the vendor prices are a lot cheaper than directly from Sergent. In fact, they are slightly cheaper than the prices Sergent quotes on their "close out" page.

Amazon is great to work with. I say go for it.

Just curious, if you have problems with the seat or want alterations is Amazon going to fix it for you?
I found Sargent's people great to work with by email and phone to answer questions and resolve issues.

Looks like it's being sold through "powersport superstore" so all issues would have to be addressed through them.

I ordered the seat, it arrived today.
Two issues:
1) The picture on amazon showed a black seat with silver welting. Mine came with black welting.
2) There are two small stretch tears in the vinyl in the area where it is next to the gas tank. While they are not that noticeable (they are about the size of a pencil eraser), they still can be seen from the side of the bike. More importantly, I fear that over time, they will expand (happened to my Corbin).
I sent a message to the vendor about these issues, will see how it pans out.
