Title: Florida Assassin Bug
Post by: stevewfl on August 14, 2011, 02:08:13 PM
.....came into my backyard to visit.  She was hungry, and so cute I let her be. Stay away from these things, they can do major harm or death.

well, unless you are a Stink Bug, or a Caterpillar, i wouldn't be too concerned....you can send them all up here to me in Va., we have them, and they are the only semblence of salvation for the critters that decimate our garden.
that is an adolescent stage, they go thru color phase changes, from red/black, to gray/brown.

they are not a threat, seriously, do not freak out...let them live!!!
it's really cool watching them attack and feed on the pests that ruin the vegi's

they are considered a beneficial predator....

I love them too my friends but that doesn't change the fact they can be DEADLY to us  , almost as deadly as some of our girlfriends;D

These deadly insects are naturally designed to kill. The effects of their bites range from painful to deadly for humans, and they inject their prey with lethal salivary secretions.........................

I think it's the one called the "Wheel Bug (Arilus Cristatus)"  Looks like a grown up version of the one pictured in this thread.

Yes sir its a wheel bug, they can deliver poison and disease. I've seen a few around in the backyard and they kill all the bad bugs on my rose bushes.

But that pic and this thread is proof I am NEVER EVER serious on the Internet. Also proves i like taking pics of BS and posting BS too (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif)

Yes sir indeed, I am humbled by the mad pow-ah and performance of KiPass  ;D

Great picture, Steve.

Thank you sir, I was playing with an old Nikon D80 I picked up for next to nothing, it seems to be working well. It'll be the throw around cam on my bikes.

I host them at photobucket.com, sometimes flickr but this one was definitely photobucket. Quite a common site, maybe talk to your work folks about Internet censorship!
