I'm about to pull the trigger on a new seat for my '11 Concours. I think I saw on here that someone had the Corbin Smuggler storage on theirs. Can anyone tell me how it looks, is it funtional, got pics, etc? That $800 seems a bit steep for such a small amount of storage.

I've been wanting to pull the trigger on one of these myself WG, I've seen them on ebay but only in the slower silver... :(
Post up some pics when it arrives! 8)

Hey WG, one other thing...
Not sure if you knew this or not but the lid part of this comes with a "fake" carbon fiber print on it, I called Corbin and they can paint that lid black as well for no additional charge, I think that would look much better IMO...

Definitely better all in "fast black". Just not sure if I can justify the $799 price tag. Especially if I also have to drop $209 for a "part time" passenger seat.
Similar thoughts on the $450 Sargent storage pod which is even smaller. Again, another $200 for that passenger seat.
I currently have a very securely attached, easily mounted/removed, expandable Cargo Endrance tank bag that I keep on the back when I'm not using the side bags. It has tons of storage space (25-40 liters) and was several HUNDREDS of dollars less expensive. I guess I can get the seats now and decide later if I want to pull the trigger on the "additional storage" (if I got the modular Sargent seat).
I just can't decide on Corbin vs. Sargent. Prices are within $20 of each other with heated driver seat and unheated passenger seat, which is probably how I'll go. The Sargent is a little bit more if you go with the modular seat vs. the one piece.
The only Corbin I've ever ridden was on a Ducati 999. It was hard, but pretty comfortable. (My butt was fine, but the rest of me suffered after about 40 miles.) The only Sargent was on a H-D Fat Bob and I really don't recall thinking about the seat at all.

That's usually a good thing. It's definitely what I'm looking for!

I have had the smuggler installed since day one on my 2010 Concours. I don't do a lot of trips more than a day or two. I have had my bags on my bike once in the year I have owned the bike since I can do 3 days (in hotels) with the smuggler alone. Works and fits great, color match is perfect.
I don't like the look of tank bags so the smuggler is ideal for me, plus it gives me a backrest.

Can you post up some pics PPBB? What color is your bike and smuggler?

2010 Concours is dark blue. No time for pictures. See Corbin sight.

The Corbin sight only has pics of the silver...
Anyone else have a smuggler (not silver) that can post up some pics??

I have a Smuggler (in silver) because I never ride 2 up, wanted some more storage and didn't want any kind of trunk hanging off the back. Unless you actually need the capacity of a trunk I think this is the best solution, and yes I agree that it is a little pricey, but a hobby is something that you can't afford, but do anyway.

I just love mine.

danvforce, off topic but can you post some pics of your seat? That looks different from any other Corbin I've seen.

That is definitely not what I thought when I saw the smuggler pics. Do you wear the matching boots when you ride? ;D

I finally found a pic of a black smuggler...

I ordered one up yesterday, I'll post up some pics of mine when it arrives, a month from now... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/wait.gif)
