Ok now it works fine and is very very stable. Now for my help. I can put in direction with ease. But I need to know how/help in making a route and loading it. For example.
I want to plot this entire loop http://tailofthedragon.com/maps_loop.html (http://tailofthedragon.com/maps_loop.html)
in my Garmin 765T. And name it Tail of the dragon . With a start and finish. How can I do that? I download some maps but there all corrodinates (sp) I want to pull up in favorites name or route xxx. start point and do it. I have mapsource and google earth too. Help please.
Cheers

Came out really nice! Great job!
As for plotting routes on your GPS, I am sure someone with a similar model as yours will chime in. I have a tomtom which doesn't allow route planning so sorry I can't assist in that sense.
Ride safe!

SAS- Check page 13 of the owners manual. Here is a link if you don't have the manual: http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/2721_OwnersManual.pdf (http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/2721_OwnersManual.pdf)
Good luck!

Ron, your mounting setup looks identical to mine! This is my 2nd riding season with that setup and it has worked great.
If your GPS didn't come with a disc for the MapSource software, you should be able to download it from the Garmin website once the device is registred. You can create routes in Mapsource at least a couple of ways. With the Route tool you can just click on different points and it creates a route to join those points. Or you can identify a number of waypoints, then select them and create a route using the selected points.
Once you have a route(s), plug in your GPS with the USB cable and you can transfer the routes from Mapsource to the GPS.
Another option is Microsoft Streets & Trips. I downloaded a trial version a couple of months after I got my GPS, and never went back to Mapsource. To me, the map is much easier to use, and the software seems more intuitive. It also can optimize a route, which is great if you're trying to hit several locations in one ride and you want to find a route that minimizes the time. It is a few more steps to get from route in S&T to a route in your GPS, though.

Thanks Keith I'll check into that program too.

I've used mapsource and it works OK. Someone else has gave me this H-D link and I have used it also. It's actually pretty good and is free.

You have to make an account but I haven't gotten a single junk email from them yet in 2 years. I have the Garmin 765T also, it's a great device. Let me know if you need some specific unit help.
