This is an 08 at my local dealer, I can get it for 6900 thats with dealer financing. is it worth the price? Does it look like any aftermarket pieces on it? From what I can tell it looks bone stock.
-
It appears to be stock and in good condition from the photo's. But that doesn't show a lot of things. It is a non-ABS model. SO it would have a lower price. That price seems very fair depending on the mileage and actual condition!
-
Does not look to be a ABS model. No ABS decal on front fender.
-
Yes I'd say thats a great price, from what I can see the bike has bar riser's and a set of Michilen pr2's.
-
I haven't looked at it in person yet. Planning on going to check it out tomorrow. I thought it had risers on it, wasn't sure, didn't notice the tires though. I figured at 8700 miles that if the stocks were still on it they would be bald!
-
Looks like a good price.
-
I'd say that's a good price too assuming everything works on it. Not sure about pricing down by you but up here they are still selling '08s for $8700 or a little less with very high miles. I figured I was lucky to get out the door for around 8k for mine.
To me that front tire looks like a PR2, not stock.
-

Good eye!
To the O/P - Seems like a decent price based on everything shown...the true test would be an "in person" visit and test ride. Make sure the recalls were done and ask for a service record if available. ;)
-
Definitely not ABS...
-
Do it.

No ABS?
That is not the bike you're looking for...

If everything goes well it will be mine. And obi won, sorry very slim picking where i'm at for concours!

All good Slick! That's a good price IMO, get it and you'll love it... :D
-
Good price, but if you can find an ABS bike you might want to think about that.

Young Skywalker.
You will love this rocket. It gets you there fast. 8)

I have an '08 with 12,000 on it. I hadn't considered selling it, but if I could get $8500 for it I'd sell it so fast it'd leave little tornadoes behind it!
-
Looks good! price seems right, my only question is how long has the bike been at the shop for sale? The reason is that I noticed it has a full tank of gas and with the ethanol in the fuel it is not good if it has been sitting for i would say over a couple of months without treatment. You should look into that and have them replace it with fresh fuel before taking her out for the first time.
-

+1 on that
-
It has a warranty till 2015!!! Bike has been up there for about a month or so, not very long. And if I could find one with abs around here I would go for it. Just not many options around here where I live!
-
My non ABS still has the best brakes of any bike I've owned, looks like a good deal.

I ended up paying 8k for one with 3k miles on it. Dealer costs are always higher than private sales, but around here the I've only seen 1 Concours for sale in the last year and the person had a very inflated sense of what his bike was worth...
slickcdb2000, I'm sure ABS is a great option, but I wouldn't say its a deal breaker not having it. I've never had a bike with ABS and I'm still standing 8) I've had more issues with poor tire slippage than anything else.

You haven't snapped this up yet?
-
a little high........but it is a great looking bike AND low mileage.

If you buy an 08 or 09 in your part of the country, you will need to wrap your right leg in an asbestos blanket from June to Labor Day. Those were fine for New York and Chicago, not good for you.

I made my own heat shields ( take 'em off in winter)and use the baker lower wings open in the summer and closed in the winter same with the hand wings
New Mexico has some summer heat and this setup works well for me
someone else was selling heat shields on the forum before don't remember who but he should post up ...it is summer

I was gonna order a set of these. I think someone on the forum makes them? I've read that they work extremely well!

Zsteve was his name on the other forum.

Buy it.
There is nothing wrong with a non-ABS bike.
If there were two bikes available, one with and one without ABS, then you could be picky.
BUY IT! ;D
Then get back here and post a picture of your new ride.
Cheers
-
get it even if it does not have ABS :)
:D

Results seem to vary on the heat issue. I live in Texas and have not had my heat deflectors on in 2 years, even in the summer.
-
Still haven't gotten it yet. I've gotta sell my other toy first, ninja zx6r. I keep getting the run around from some other guy claiming he is gonna buy it but something keeps coming up. Everything is done, deal is made on the connie just waiting for the other guy to come through on his end of the deal. Maybe monday he will come through, hopefully.
I'm sure the heat may be a hot, but compared to some sport bikes I have owned it's probably minor from what i'm used to, esp the zx6!!!! It gets HOT!!!!!! It almost melted my leather boots to my ankles! Now that's hot!

I hear that! I had an R1 with dual under tail exhaust and the forums were full of complaints, but I never experienced it. Maybe my butt was just less sensitive to heat - must be all of that spicy food :o
Hopefully your other sale goes through quick! Waiting on other people is always a pain and full of broken promises and tire kickers who swear up and down they'll be back in 1 day with the $$.
-
Someone mentioned the "heat issue". I guess I must be one of the fortunate few who have no problems with the heat issue. I have an 09 and do not find the heat to be an problem and I have been stuck in stop and go traffic on the freeway in 80 plus degree weather.
-
It's official, june 3rd I will be the proud owner of this connie!!!!! I cant wait!

'09 non-ABS in stop-and-go Atlanta traffic at 100+ degree days. No heat issue from the bike..... now the road heat and other traffic along with helmet law will met your face off with or without engine heat.
-
There are no abs's available. As a matter of fact there aren't any connies anywhere around here that I know off. Went and check it out today and she is a beauty!!! only one scratch and thats on the bottom of 1 of one of the bags!
BTW, got a 2 brothers slip on in the mail already!!!!

Nice. Ride it like ya stole it......and at the price you did.
-
Sweet, nice deal. I just got my '09 and the heat is not an issue for me...
-
The price for that bike is great, why is every body making a big deal about not having abs, in fact most bikes today don't come with abs..... I paid last yr for my non ABS $9k. Left over 2009 sky power sport lake wales florida.

Because ABS has and will continue to save peoples bacon out on the road. I have yet to own an ABS bike, but I will make it a priority on my next bike. I know I can't modulate the brakes as quickly as a computer to keep the brakes from locking up. Is a $500 option worth it to keep you out of a potentially deadly situation? I know if I have a choice that I will choose ABS.
-
I finally get my Connie tomorrow!!! I'm full of anticipation!!!! Already have a weekend ride through arkansas Saturday!!!
-
Slickcdb2000,
When and where are You coming through Arkansas Saturday?
I live in the Little Rock area.

I'm leaving my house at 9, should be in hot springs around 1 or so. I'm riding from Winnsboro, LA to Harrison, AR all the way up hwy 7. I'm meeting my uncle in hot springs and riding back to harrison with him to stay the night. You are more than welcome to join in, I'll be riding home the next morning. I'm not sure how far you are from Harrison though???
-
Slickcdb2000,
You might want to get an earlier start in the morning if You can because it is supposed to be 98 degrees tomorrow.

-
We was gonna leave earlier, but the wife and mother n law had different plans!!!! I will be riding with 2 harleys!! :( I need to check now and see if my sixth gear works in my bike, cause I know I want be using it riding with them two
-
Got her today!!!! Made my first ride on her as well, and boy is she smooth! Completely different from a crotch rocket!!! I knew it would be different but this is great! I can go all day long now. Now just got to wait on the UPS man to hurry up with the 2 bros pipe!
On a different note was loading it up on the trailer to bring her home, the dumb @$# woman that just knew exactly what she was doing strapping her down...... well what do ya'll think happened? Yep she fell over on the trailer! My heart fell in my shoe! Thankfully just barely put a nick in the side plastic, whew!!! ::) ::)
-
Congrats!
