Ok, so how do you burn $2600... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/idea.gif)
Just got home from picking her up, wow, major power increase! Muzzys full dual system, PCV, K&N, flies pulled, air injection blocked off... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/crazy1.gif)
Enjoy, I know I will... ;D

Hahaha... as you know rain came into the PNW today. (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/mad.gif)
These pics are "after" I spent a couple hours cleaning her back up... Ironically, just as I finished cleaning her the sun came out... :banghead: ;D

Ya, ya, ya cheesehead... ;)
I took the bags off to show the pipes in the pics, threw the trunk on to run up to the store and get some beers... ;D :chugbeer:

Sweet!
Now if we can get you to ride it before spending more money farkliing it, you might have a chance to get rid of that left side chicken strip. ;)
So, is there any decel popping?
-
:rotflmao:
No popping Rob, all good, I'm glad I had them plug it!
-
Bike looks great ZG! I am so jealous!

Thanks Koval!

That is a nice, clean install! Looks like everything fits very well- much more so than I would have expected. Of course, you will think I am crazy that I like the stock muffler better. Just call me strange!

Yeah, I keep telling him that trunks (top boxes) look silly to me no matter what... but a trunk with no side bags looks really, really strange! :P

"Strange Max" it is going forward... ;) :D :-*

Tough crowd.
You guys must not spend much time in Europe huh, it's the majority of what you'll see over there. Not sure why but the side bags always make me feel clunky for some reason... ???
-
This thread is worthless without a video clip so we can hear how it sounds. ;)
-
If you want to know how it sounds get a check for near 2,000.00 and it will put a smile on your face.....
Muzzy does a very nice job on this exhaust system and any owner will be proud to have it on his bike...
Here is how it looks with black ceramic coating with the bags on...
The best always costs a little bit more....
Ninja
-
Your PR3s still look brand new. How many miles do you have on the bike now? I've put only 4000 on mine since September due to the crappy weather.
-
Sweetness!!!!

This is the advantage IMO of buying a new left over model vs current year, I got my 09 ABS brand new this past fall for $10.6 OTD, leaves more $ for farkles... ;D

2500 on the bike now, about 2k on the 3's so far...
Between crappy PNW weather, my travel for work, and other bikes in the stable to ride when I'm home and it's dry out she just doesn't get rid near as much as she should... :'(

Are you going to Rally in the Gorge this year? http://www.soundrider.com (http://www.soundrider.com)

What are the dates?

It's on July 27-31. Here's the direct link; sorry their main page is kinda' hard to navigate.
http://www.soundrider.com/stour/rally/ (http://www.soundrider.com/stour/rally/)
I'd really like to go, but I don't think I will be able to make it this year.
The really nice thing about this rally is that if you pay $125 for the campground rental, they supply all the camping gear, accommodations and showers.

If only you had the best color. Oh well, I know that you had to settle for second best...

I won't take it too seriously Mike... ;) ;D

Hmmmm...
*taking out his notebook and making some notes*
Tell me Mr ZG, how long have you had a guy living in your rear view mirror and how long has he been talking to you? What does he tell you? Does he ever tell you to hurt anyone, or perhaps hurt yourself? Does he ever tell you that black motorcycles are better than Silver Dammit? You're sick boy, sick I tell you!

That is a very nice looking system, if it sounds half as good as it looks I bet you are thrilled.

Thanks Alpha, I would actually say that it sounds even better than it looks! It's a really deep sound, like Barry White deep... it even makes me feel taller for some reason... ;D 8)
And the power increase is just ridiculous with my "butt Dyno". I'm taking it over to my buddies shop next week to have him do a custom map for the PCV while running it on the dyno, it just has the drop in map right now for this system, filter, etc...

Looks terrific, ZG. Congrats on the work for all of us peons.
I'm considering some full duals, too. I have the ZX14 header in stock and want to try it out, but may opt for the Muzzy system you have .... sans the black mid pipes.
I've been told that the true dual system has a 'soft' bottom end compared to the slip on single, or 4-2-1 Muzzy. You think this is correct? I have to tell ya, the Holeshot single can with mid pipe and the re-Flashed ECU really gives lots of bottom end torque/power IMO. I certainly don't want to sacrifice that for a better 'look'. So, I'm interested in you remapping and the charts showing what the increases in power/torque are at the lower end where I use the bike.
Thanx again, man ! :)

If you're really considering this system you should check the classifieds, Ninja has one for sale there right now... (free plug for ya David. ;) )
Trust me, there is no bottom end torque sacrificed at all, it's all grunt and go low end and all out top end, I really love it!! Dare I say better than sex... ;D :-X
I'll defiantly post up the dyno chart after next weeks custom map on the PCV.

BTW glad to see you guys coming around to the Dark Side of full dual exhaust.
Now if only I could get one of those AFR loggers so I could get my ECU reflashed and put the flies back in...sigh ;)

Thanks, mate...admittedly the forum diaspora and other life issues caught up with me for a bit, but I'm still around and riding. Good to see you've hid your expenses from the wife for a while lol...

ZG, It realy looks nice. Everthing seems to have "come together"......blanton

Oh I knew that was coming, always so easy for you to tell me Mike...
Trust me, I know I don't get to put as many miles on her as most of you on this forum but it's not by choice, I travel way too much for work so often I'm not even home, and when I am home it's a crap shoot on raining or not (typical PNW weather), sorry but I'm not a ride in the rain guy...
Plus I do have to share the love with my bikes, I can't spend all my dry days when home on the Connie, it would cause a complex in the garage if you know what I mean, I must say I don't dread ridding a Gixxer... ;) ;D

You'd better hope the wife doesn't figure out she's the wet weather attention option ;)

Holy crap- your alternator must be screaming in pain... (and the people in font of you at night, too!)
People in front, yes...I have to be careful to kill the lights in oncoming traffic - which can be a pain in the ass sometimes because many of the roads here are not lit at night and believe me, you want to see as far as possible so that you aren't meeting large fauna in the road (I did clip an emu one evening but that was at dusk and the damned thing just appeared out of nowhere lol).
As for my alternator, she's breathing easy. The top lights (including standard lighting) are all HID's @35 watts each, and the lights on the forks are Denali LED's that draw 10 watts each. Total draw when everything is lit up is 220 watts, and by memory the alternator is good for a load over 450 watts. The only other power draws on the system are heated grips and a heated Russell Cycle Pro seat.

Ok, dyno run today, here's what the new set-up did!
Full Muzzys dual system, PCV with custom map, K&N, flies pulled...
I gained 13 hp over my base line run on this same dyno just a couple months ago with a slip-on Muzzys, and the ft-lbs TQ is at 92!
The blue line is the drop-in PCV map, the red line is the custom map, check out the air/fuel on the custom map, you can't get any more dialed in that! 8)
7-23-11 dyno run

4-1-11 dyno run (the "before" base line run)

Verrryyyy nice!
That flat torque curve is what most of us feel in the seat of our pants, 80 ft. lbs at 4K feels like gods own hand pushing from behind!
Your tuner left it a touch rich at 6K and above, probably because of personal preference and a little safety margin from too lean.
This, all...is what we all shoot for when diddling our motors!
Good job..... and now start saving for rear tires!
Fretka
Mods, this recipe along with the traces should be a sticky for reference.
