Title: First experience with traction control
Post by: Dirtiegirtie on October 15, 2021, 08:21:09 AM
Well, it happened. I had my first experience with the traction control.

I was at a stop light, stopped in the right lane. I didn't take off like a banshee from the line, as I didn't want to do a wheelie, but increased my throttle slowly and probably hit WOT around 4k. Very soon after, I think around 6k, the front tire started to lift and the traction control cut the power... so I shifted to 2'nd and kept going at a little more leisurely pace.

I'm sure you folks are used to the power of these machines, but I'm trying to ease into it. I can say I've had a rear tire start spinning due to torque on some of my cruisers, but never a wheelie. The only other time my front tire lifted was 26 or 27 years ago. I was at a stop light with my buddy in his Ford Escort GT next to me. I rev'ed the engine on my Suzuki GS500E and popped the clutch when the light turned green... wasn't expecting that result either.

I'm thinkin' I'm likin' this here Constance. :)

It's fun isn't it?

Fall back in the seat and pull up a bit. It'll work better.

Crap. I just realized I posted this in the C10 area. Not sure how to move it.

But yes, it was fun! ;D ;D ;D

The Moderator will move it. But I wish I could wheelie with my C10 as easily. It's hard to do it on my bike and I am too light to add extra inertia to assist with the maneuver.
