Title: Wore out the 009 Shinko this weekend
Post by: COGnosticat0r on July 05, 2011, 09:34:42 AM
I got back yesterday from my 1200 mile trip to the mountains around BRMC.

I was into the wear bars, got 4,350 out of the rear.  Did a lot better than I thought they would.  I will be going back to the Pirelli Angel again, I got 6k out of that tire.

I only got 2950 out of the 011 Verge Shinko

I was impressed with the grip of the shinko. I never had a moment with them. The 009 rear and pilot road 2 front was a good combo but I dont see why they call them sport touring tires. I have gotten 4000 miles out of sport tires before. I am hoping the 023 with last a while.
When removing the 009 yesterday I could really tell how flat it had gotten in the middle but the bike still handled good.

I was impressed with the grip of the shinko.

I was too, always felt confident with the 009 and the 011.  This past Sun I was in some rain doing about 70 and there were some tar snakes, got my attention and slowed down but no pucker factor.

I am going to try the Continental Conti Motion set next, $170 delivered for two tires  LOL  I never learn   :D  The do have good reviews

I completely destroyed a rear "Motion" in two days in Arkansas. It was chunking and coming apart. It was replaced under warranty though. 8)

They stick good, but don't take hard riding with heat and weight well.

Damn throttle.

Lollllllll, but on a serious note, i m not that hard on throttle

I also bought the bike used and the dealer told me he put new tires on the bike and they were thoses Avon storm.

Dont mind getting new tires but i would hope for something more than 6K

Front one looks good, so can i get only the rear one but different makes :o

I have done that on numerous occasions as long as they are both radial tires or bias ply whichever you are running

Bridgestone BT-023.
I installed it yesterday and just got back from a test ride. Man...its amazing what a new tire will do for handling.
