WHEN YOU HAVE THE GROUND CLEARANCE OF GTR 1400,3 PERSON RIDE!!! ..ME,MY WIFE AND MY DAUGHTER,TOTAL 580 KILOS!!!!AND THE SUPERB GREEK ROADS WITH 10 CM ANOMALIES.... THE RESULT IS CRACKED DRAIN BOLT BASE AND OIL PAN......!!!!! AND OFCOURSE 4,5 LITERS OIL WASTED......!!!!😣😰😨😱

You were riding with your wife AND your daughter on the C-14?
Sorry for this and it's my opinion only. That's a very irresponsible thing to do. Not because of what happened to your bike but what could have happened to your wife and daughter.

Yep. That is why they redesigned where the drain is on the 2nd gen. You probably also needed to adjust your preload to deal with the extra weight. Sorry to hear of your issue, that really sucks... especially if you were also stranded somewhere. :(

As the saying goes, without pics (of the threesome) it didn't happen. (If that comment appears salacious, blame it on Conrad's recent Sausage Party video, ;D)
Hopefully there is a reasonable cost resolution of the misadventure.

CONRAD,
After 24 years and 400000km i know what responsibility is.....
It was an emergency run for 3km distance with all the motorcycle gear for3 of us.....
Believe me my friend you probably would not ride a motorcycle in such road conditions.....
After 8,5 years and 80000 km i probably change my GTR for a BMW R1200GS ADVENTURE with more ground clearance and a little bit better suspensions....but....financial problems!!!!!!
-
Only 3 people?
They get families of 5 on step thrus in Vietnam etc ;)

BEAT THIS IF YOU CAN........ :o ;D ;) :)(http://)

One can change the setup on the 08/09s by ordering 10+ parts. Of course this does slow the bike down to gen2 speeds.

This is one of the reasons I went to an adventure style bike. I like to ride less than perfect roads.

No, referring to the "GREEK ROADS" part of the post.

...ME,MY WIFE AND MY DAUGHTER,TOTAL 580 KILOS!!!!
580 kilograms = 1278 pounds. (http://kilograms-to-pounds.com/Convert-580-kilos-to-lb-580 (http://kilograms-to-pounds.com/Convert-580-kilos-to-lb-580))
1278 pounds - 689 pound C14 (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2009/11/article/2009-kawasaki-concours-14-comparison/ (http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/2009/11/article/2009-kawasaki-concours-14-comparison/)) = 589 pounds.
589 pounds รท 3 people = 196.33 pounds per person, divvied up any way you like.
That's a hell of a load for this bike under any road conditions, especially when it's all on the seat area rather than distributed over the bike.
I am surprised that you all didn't go down when it bottomed out.
Lucky that only the drain bolt base was the only damage.

My Mother always said.... "hey, don't do THAT"...
I never listened... and did want I wanted....
here's your sign....

so, you will never do that again, I suppose... and I'd suppose if you did, the one thing you learned was not to tell people you did it...

The original design of where the drain plug is situated was not the best. I think I've scraped mine once but it didn't break anything. It's cheaper to buy the gen 2 parts than another bike...

Greek, Just a side curiosity...I was in Athens in Oct 2012 and saw C14 like yours parked outside of a Gyro shop near the Acropoli Metro station...I believe it was on Athanasiou Diakou. It would prove to be a small world if that was indeed your bike! I've been all over the world, and Athens is one of my favorite places. I truly hope to return someday.
EDIT: GTR, not C14. My mistake ;D
