Title: World of power sports?
Post by: Knobbytyre on February 01, 2017, 03:27:15 PM
Hey all I am in the market for a 2015 candy apple green concours, there is one in Springfield IL, that I am interested in. I live near Portland Oregon and considering flying and riding or just having it shipped to me. The internet is a scary place so that makes me a little nervous to purchases something like this with out sitting on it and seeing it. So I am curious if any one has done any business with world of power, maybe if someone is close they would not mind stopping by there and verifying the bike is there and in new condition.

I'm from Peoria.   They have a dealership here, one in Bloomington and one in Decatur, where they started. I didn't know they had one in Springfield, they must have taken over an older shop, that's what they have been doing.

I can't get there to see the bike but they are not a fly by night outfit.

Edit, OK I lied, they are in a huge new shop.  Looks like their biggest one yet.

Holy ****, that's the best price I've ever seen.  Sure, it's 2 years old but new is new and they haven't changed, that I am aware of.  Buy that thing before I do.

As far as riding it home, it's in the teens here.

$11K is insanely low.  My skeptical nature is asking "what is wrong with that?"  Hidden damage?  Not actually new?  Missing something???  Somebody gotta buy that!

This price doesn't surprise me.  There are plenty of dealers selling OLD Stock but new units cheap.

There was a post on here from Milwaukee for 2016s that were under 12k Out The Door.

The point is that this is a realistic price.  People are not standing in line for these bikes.

Thats a Awesome price similar to what i payed in Nov of 15, i bought my 2014 14 for $10200, OTD!
It was a Demo, with under 800 miles.
If they are selling that at $10500 as new, they Buy there bikes outright, verses financing them! Jump on it! It's an Awesome deal!
You Still get the full warranty, and can still extend it!

Are you sure that having it shipped to you is an option?  Generally a dealer is required by Kawasaki to do final delivery to the purchaser in person.  But that does look like a great deal on a new model.  Fly and ride home could be a bit iffy this time of year.  Lots of potentially cold, snow, and ice between here and Portland.

If they say new, it's gotta be new. New means 0 miles.  New means no damage.  New means "Not a demo".  Serious lawsuit material otherwise.  That is a chain of dealership across 4 towns here in central IL.  What I'm saying is, they may not be Mother Theresa but they're not Al Capone either.

I have dealt with them before.  Bought my 2nd new bike from them from their first dealership in Decatur, a 1985 Yamaha FZ750, quite the bike.  They were getting it from Chicago and there was a delay so they OK'ed me to go up and get it (after taking my money).  The dealership in Chicago prepped it, did the usual walk through and I rode it home about 150 miles.

Thank you all for the information, I called them today and there is a little extra for the OTD price but not to bad. With shipping to Oregon I would be into it for about $12,700

Let me run something by you all and get your opinion. There is one locally that I can get for the same price $10,999 OTD that is used with 1800 miles on it. It still has about a year of the factory warranty on it. I rode the bike in September and then again yesterday and it seems to be issue free. I am concerned they they have stored the bike outside all winter and some of the fasteners on the fairing are starting to rust. Which one would you buy?

One thing to consider is that if the bike is still covered by any of the original factory warranty (or the factory extended warranty already), you can purchase a 3 year factory extended warranty on it for cheap from CERTAIN dealers (you can get if from any Kawasaki dealer, but most will rip you off).  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.  You can extend the original warranty two times, for a total of 9 years of coverage.  See:  http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=225.0 (http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=225.0)   This might help with your choices of what to buy, if you want to go used.  Just make damn sure it is still already covered first!

Just FYI, I found a 0 miles 2014 in Baton Rouge LA for $9300. Actually someone else on the forum pointed it out. I called the dealer and got this in response:

Tire waste???  On a new bike?  That is a bit odd.

But WOW- $9500 for a new 2014- just unreal!

Yup. Already ran into some trouble. Found out after I got it home that it has an automatic service required light for each type of service (oil change and desmo valve service) and only the dealer can re-set the warning on the screen as well as a light. That would have been a deal breaker for me. But found a cable and android app on ebay that is supposed to fix this. I should know soon if it works. No way I'll take the bike to the dealer for a $500 oil change never mind the PITA to take it there, leave it and have to go back to get it. Further I investigated the procedure to check and adjust the demo valve system. Doesn't look all that hard and again the dealer wants $1500  :yikes: for the service.
