Title: Another thread about tars. What to do?
Post by: 2talltim on November 01, 2016, 04:15:33 AM
Not really looking for info or reviews just a quick question. Would you do it?
Looking for my  next set and I noticed there is a rebate on the bt-023''s. I was looking to get the T30s again but the rebate don't apply to them. Then I noticed a Web site had a set (both f&r) for 023s for $201 out the door delivered plus the $40 rebate that makes them a $161 set. BUT...they are the non GT. So on that price would you pull the trigger. I'm hard on tires and only get 3000 to 4000 out of a set anyway, usually wear the the corners to the edge out before the center. There is only a 50lb load index difference in the gt vs non gt and I did loose 50lb on my diet..lol
So what would you do?

Side note information. Current set are pr4, it's the first and last time I pay the premium for them. GETTING a few more miles out of them but have been cupped front and rear since half worn. Attatched  is a pic of my previous t30 that had around 3300 miles on it but was perfectly worn.

I say go for it. I can't pass up a good deal.
I found the BT-023 ( non-GT ) got a little
heavy handed after the center wore a bit.
That doesn't look like it would be a problem
for you.
Initially, I felt handling was light and precise.
Better, in fact, than the T-30s I'm currently running.
Although, for me, the T-30s seem to wear
more evenly over their life. YMMV

If you like the stones obviously go for it. But in general, I've found that jakewilson.com has great prices and they are just like Jimmy John's, freaky fast delivery. I order my PR4's from them and 2 days later I come home from work and there they are sitting on my front step. And always free shipping.

Usually get all my tars from JW but Bike Bandit has the better price this time around.

I pulled the trigger, JW did a price match and they'll process the rebate for you plus ill still get their bonus cash. So $160 for a set should be a no loose even if I only get a couple thousand out of them, but should get around 3k.
