I just finished the longest ride I have had on the new (2012) C and I think I would like to lower the foot pegs a bit to reduce the degree of bend at the knee. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on which product to consider? I think I want them a little lower and back to be most comfortable. Not sure what options are available.

I have a used set of Murphs pegs I am going to get rid of. I heard great things,so I ordered a set. I also ordered the lowering kit from Advanced Sport Touring. I was going to combine them, but im comfortable with just the advanced kit. If you are interested, let me know. I paid 60 for them, and would do the same price shipped to the lower 48

Love my Murphs pegs. 6'4" tall and now my knees are no longer above the tank.

Do you have to also modify the controls (gear shift & rear brake)? Thank you.

Gear shift just needs adjusted by the rod. Brake side says half the adjusting threads need removed on the rod for the master cylinder . looks very straight forward. Probably easier to do that than modifying the heat shield, and such I did for the AST kit. Murph has directions on his site.

It depends. I used the Buell pegs. They are lower that the stock pegs, but the feeler on it is at a higher distance from the ground that the feeler on the stock peg at the stock location.
Do a search for "Buell pegs". There's a lot of info on them and other peg lowering choices.

I have Murphs pegs and they are comfortable, I dont think I will go back. But I have rubbed my left toe on the ground more than once while going thru a tight turn (size 14 boot)

I've done that with the stock pegs. Now when I go into attack mode I put my feet up higher.

Strange thing for me, I used to drag the stock pegs all the time but i have not yet hit the murphs pegs, kinda weird.

I try do the same thing, when I remember. I didn't remember a few weeks ago, and had both feet with the peg before the heel (with my toe extending below the brake/shifter) and was surprised by my boot scraping the pavement. But my C14 is lowered 1", so I have already lost some clearance. I have never touched the pegs to the pavement... yet. Even lowered, the bike will lean significantly more than I am willing to discover.
But yes, lowering the pegs by either lowering the bike or lowering just the pegs will, indeed, reduce maximum lean angle. As to whether it will affect the rider, it depends on how the rider wants to lean :)

The foot pegs that Murphs sells I think is the same as the other place mentioned. It only lowers it about an inch, but the problem is that they are tilted down and your boot doesn't fit on the whole peg unless you think about it. Then, your ankle is tilted forward and down. Plus, the instructions about making adjustment to the foot brake rod was a bit complicated but I just did it another way. How? Don't remember, but anyone with aptitude could figure it out. On the other hand, if you follow the instructions, there may be a change that the pegs won't be tilted down.. Just thought of that..

FWIW I rode last weekend only about 70 minutes and I was slightly cramped up in my legs (with the murphs pegs) I think a taller seat might be in order, still sitting on the original.
When you install the murphs pegs you must cut off about 1cm of the adjusting rod for the rear brake pedal, but I believe there is enough adjustment room to return it to a stock position after it is cut.
