Been with Geico since the cave, man :) Now intend to purchase insurance elsewhere.
Who has a great price for insurance?
-
Was with the lizard for along time too but switched to Progressive last year and been happy i guess but haven't had to file a claim yet. I have a decent price but i also have my cars and house through them too so lots of discounts.

Had Progressive but they kept upping the premium. With Safeco now.

Everything with Farmers. Bikes (two C-10's) are 100/500, with ?? non/under-insured, no crash/comp, for ~$125/yr each bike.
Rates have basically paralleled inflation for 15-20 years. One claim.

I've had good result using an independent agent. They represent multiple carriers and can quickly and easily shop for the best deal.

I just fired Geico after 15 years. No tickets, no accidents, no claims in all those years. Rates just kept climbing.
I read that their payouts were severely cutting into to their profits so rate increases were necessary. (But I got that from the internet so validity could be questioned.)

I am currently with Safeco. I tend to switch about every 3-4 years, it seems that's about the time they must think they have you hooked because the rates seem to start going up then.
-
I have Allstate now. I had State Farm, but the rates started going up. I tried the "Discount Double Check" the rate went up even more.
Allstate is $70 a year for my ST1300 and $85 for my Hayabusa. I like it......

Just remember to compare apples to apples.... rate comparison doesn't mean all that much if it is not for the same coverage (not just type of coverage, but also deductibles and max payouts) and by someone in the same area (even a different city in the same state can vary a lot) and in the same demographic (gender, marital, age, record) and for the same year and model vehicle....

Ins is CrAzY!
I have had Progressive since 2004, and my rates have gone DOWN every year!
I even almost totaled my C14 (it was borderline)
They wrote me a nice check, and then lowered my rates again at renewal time.

That isn't completely crazy... afterall, rates do tend to go down with driver age. :)

Well, if most of us are getting reamed, at least 1 of us should be benefiting from it HAHA.

A slightly different thought: you might want to research the ins. co. you are thinking about rather than going by the lowest quote. I have had two insurance cases in the last 2 years, nothing before them for maybe 20+ years. One was with my bike, which is insured through Progressive. They were quick, extremely fair and handed me a check for the damage that the adjuster printed in his CAR before he ever left! The other is a homeowner's claim with Mapfre (also known as American Commerce) that has dragged on for nearly a year while they falsify documents and generally behave in anything but good faith.
Like the old French Knight said in that Indiana Jones flick: "You must choose wisely" or you may live to regret it. Trust me, I would have gladly paid an additional 10% in insurance premiums just to have a reputable company that behaved in a reasonable, fair and dare I say, legal, manner.

Switched to Safeco today. Good insurance ain't cheap. High limits, full coverage, the whole enchilada. Hope I never have to use it, but if I do, it will seem cheap then.
