Great SR-71 story (http://tribunist.com/technology/sr-71-blackbird-pilot-trolls-arrogant-fighter-pilot-with-ground-speed-check/).

Great story! It made me smile big time.

A coworker just sent me this story via work. Came here to post it and found it already here. Awesome!

Fun stuff indeed. The days before GPS and everyone, including hot air balloons, knowing exactly what their ground speed is.

Very cool story...thanks for sharing!!

I've read that story before. I have a couple friends who were in the AF and assigned to the SR program.

On the flip-side, one of the best SR71 quotes I have heard is "You haven't been lost until you have been lost at Mach3!".

That's a great story. I see those guys flying here in Dallas almost every day. I don't know what they are flying but they are way on up there. I always wonder what the crew must be thinking and how lucky they are to be able to do what they do.
