Ya'll got a "Chicken Choker"...cool.
-
Not sure what that is but I like the microphone and the camera.
-
I pulled my mini tree out of the spare room and took the sheet off. Done! ;D
It stays decorated all year. ;)

The mic is what I called the "Chicken Choker" Can literally pick up a pin dropping if you cranked up the gain enough.

Nice - do you ever use the TLR? I'm looking forward to trying mine...
I bought a really old Rolleiflex at a local yard sale for next to nothing - trying to rehab it - it's in about 30 pieces being cleaned right now, glass is surprisingly good, but the mechanicals are really rough - hope I can get it back together and working OK... ;)

Mic looks like a D104 Silver Eagle.
My handle was B'rer Rabbit. KOR-0534. A loooooooooong time ago.

I have a Rollei or two and a box of Yashicas. Then there's the Rollei 126 SLR
Never had the D104, though...
Good luck getting that TLR working but film and processing are becoming more difficult to come by.

That looks just like the mic I had on my tube-type base station, mid/late-70's.

That was back when the channels above 23 weren't quite kosher (nor the one's below 1 8) )

What did you end up using, Treeagra?

Everyone is looking at the mic and camera. All I am thinking is "Mantel means fireplace." "Fireplace in Florida?" That is like having Air Conditioning in Alaska. :)

I asked my realtor WHY all these fireplaces in FL homes? And she replied "you absolutely CANNOT sell a property to the yankees moving down here without a fireplace!"

I grew up in a house without a fireplace -- in Michigan. I think fireplaces are fixtures in the larger homes, but I can definitely do without one. I think I've built 3 fires in the last 8 years. :P

I always thought that the fireplaces in Florida were used to help protect the back yard orange groves in case of a frost. All the back yards there have a mini orange grove, right? Only stands to reason that they do, all the back yards here in Texas have a longhorn steer or two (except the ones with personal oil rigs in the affluent neighborhoods). :)

I wasn't envious of Steve's purple Hot Wheels tree until now. :(

We've had a skinny artificial tree for several years. With a little effort it will fit through a doorway fully assembled and decorated. It resides in a front bedroom walk-in closet for about 10-1/2 months a year. Goes up and down in minutes.
On the fireplace issue. I have one in the living room and one on the covered back porch. The one in the house just makes the rest of the house cold when it's used, so I try to keep the wife from burning a fire there. The one out back is to keep my cattle and oil wells warm during one of our twice a year ice storms down here in Texas. 8)

The one out back is to keep my cattle and oil wells warm...
Told ya! (er..I mean told ya-awl)
I did forget to mention that some in Texas have both.
