Hopefully somebody either knows the answer to this or can direct me to it: I have a Givi V47 top case, and I'd like to glue 4 or 6 plastic bits inside it to support a vertical partition (running parallel with the bike). I like an empty space in the top case available for quickly dropping my helmet in when I stop somewhere, and without a partition of course all the other stuff in the top case slides around and causes me to have to re-organize each time to get my helmet in there. I'd probably make the partition out of plastic or maybe very thin (1/8"?) plywood, prob covered with felt, and it would just slide down into place. I'd be able to slide the partition up & out & lay it flat on the bottom of the top case for times when I want to carry something larger than the space on either side of the partition.
I'm just not knowledgeable about what plastics & glues go together.

I've used plastex on panels with some success but don't know if it would work on your project.

Why not use a packing cube of appropriate size in half the box leaving the other half open.

Most plastics used in motorcycles is ABS.
If you use ABS for you partitions and support groves to slide them in, then you just use ABS solvent glue from the hardware store in the plumbing department.
That is how I attach stuff like fender extensions, no drilling means no cracking.
If it is a painted surface just sand it off

JB Weld will stick just about anything to just about anything else. :thumbs:

I read on ADV forum that Givi cases are made of polypropylene. Loctite has a plastic bonding system that should work

if you can find some of the "C" shaped cross section "edge strip" like what is used on the edges of the C10 fairings, it could easily be bonded to the trunk using 3M double stick trim tape... strong stuff, and the divider could be cut from a piece of plexiglass to slip into place in the "C" channel... easily removed when necessary.
like this stuff from mcmaster carr.... about $3 worth would do the trick....

or even cheaper, Home Depot, clear plastic drywall corner edge protector anglenstuff, a couple pieces strategically located to make a channel, and bonded in place with that 3M trim tape...

strongest bonding adhesive you will find that will stick to that plastic

I've used this to bond a neoprene back rest pad to my Shad trunk.it seen allnsorts of bad weather for over 10 years... it ain't coming off....
