Title: New C-14 - what color?

I finalized a deal on a new 2011 C-14.  Now the hard part - What color should I get?  Most say the black is hard to keep looking good.
What do you all think?

yeah! that's what I say........Now go get that black bike because everyone knows it's sexy and the fastest.

Five minutes to wipe it down with a micro-fiber towel.....dust gone.

What Excavator said is true. I bought a black one and just went on a 3 day trip. Took 2 small microfiber cloths with me, wiped it down with a wet cloth and dried it off with the dry one... 5 minutes or less and it was like new! ;D Don't be afraid of black, it is cool! 8)

Black looks great when clean. The problem is that it's almost never clean. It shows everything (dust, dirt, every friggin' scratch or swirl, etc.). It attracts the suns heat, so it's hotter to ride in the summer. Your always cleaning it, or it looks like $h!t. Simply put, don't make the same mistake many others have, and buy black! The guys that will tell you to buy black are the ones that screwed up and bought black themselves. And now they can't lose face by admitting it!  ;D

I just put PR3's on and could have gone with the 55. Does it really make that much difference?

I am a black fanatic so I have a black, but consider this. Silver will always look cleaner. It reflects light. Also will not show swirl marks like black and if u get nicks here and there it will not show anywhere near what the black will.

It may get dirty looking faster but its more incentive to care for it and keep it clean!  To think of all them neglected silver bikes out there......  :P

Black bikes and cars do look great when clean, but like most have already said, they're hard to keep clean.

Nah, I just use the time during slow afternoons at work to clean the bike so it's ready for me when I CAN ride ;)

I love to look at OTHER peoples black bikes ... but i dont ever want to own any black vehicles.
Wife's Tahoe is a nightmare to keep clean ... and is always so damn hot.

Pity you can't change the deal and find a nice, new (not to mention FASTEST) BLUE 2010.

Having had Black vehicles before, no interest in ever having another one until I win the lottery and can afford a full-time live-in garage attendant. Preferably she would look good in short-shorts. I got better things to do and places to be than cleaning a bike.

I currently have a 2010 Blue. If I had to do it again I would probably go with Silver. I've had them all including Black. It all depends on your personality. If you stress as I do over dust and swirl marks, buy silver. Silver or white are stress free colours.

But if the Tee had a choice, that Triumph Green color that is offered in the European model would be it.  Tee does like his blue 2010.

All the silver proponents say the same thing; black looks great until it gets dirty.

At that point, it doesn't look so great, so you may as well get the silver which doesn't look so great all the time.    ;D

That new silver is a perfect color. If you change your mind I'll swap it with my "Gets Dirty Fast Blue One". I would have paid an extra $1000 for silver over blue. Black are nasty dirty bikes. I can't even stand the fingerprints on them in the showroom when new. IMHO.

From the NY International Motorcycle Show this winter. Look how much the black shows stuff compared to the Silver! As always, the black looks like $h!t.  ;D

Can you explain in further detail? I'll be replacing my PR2s in another 1000 miles. does the 190/55 provide a more nimble profile and handling (flick ability)?
