OK,  Help me out here please.  One owner, 2012, 1400.  Completely stock.  1700 miles on it.   In new condition. Black.   What's it worth.

Thanks in advance.  CK

Depends totally on your location and your market

here you can buy brand new 2013's for 11,000
brand new 2014's for 12,500

or used 2012's with under 10k for 8500 or a 2011 with under 10k for 7500~~`probably less actually if negotiate and don't just pay asking price.

so noway would I think a used (albeit low used) be even worth 9k here locally......... but everyone has their own standard of what they want and think **** is worth

I would always buy new, even if there was a 3k or 4k difference, there is just something about being the only owner, the only person to have ever ridden it etc...
Get one just out of the crate is the only way to go IMO

It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.  I have found that the insurance value is higher than what you can sell it for.

But, like others have said it depends on your location, the availability, and the demand.

You should get a discount for having to break it in  (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif)

Yes, but then I would have to give him more for being the only person to ever get into my checking account (without my wife's permission)   :yikes:

Last year I sold a 2010 for $9400 with about 6,000 miles and in pristine condition with a V-stream windshield, canyon cages front and rear, and risers.

Realizing my mistake, I bought a 2013 a couple months ago with a V-Stream windshield  and a Zumo 350LM GPS with new tires, with 10,300 miles on it for $8999.  It was in very good condition.  The guy could no longer ride it because of a mountain biking accident.  It was sort of a fire sale.

I live in California.

The actual value is honestly what you feel comfortable paying, as lame as that sounds! If the seller is asking a reasonable price, and is firm there, then at that point its up to you, and what value you personally can place on the ownership of the bike in question.

FWIW, if your dipping into checking without SWMBOs knowledge, that will have to be another thread! I will subscribe to that one!! LOL!!

Don't listen to these guys, Clark. I firmly believe that it's better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission!  :stirpot:

Can I ask how long you were patiently looking for a deal like this before it came along?  If you look on Cycle Trader and Craigslist, I am seeing 90% really high asking prices.  Then I read about deals like yours and others who have told me theirs from this site.

OK,  I have a firm deal at $7,750.  That is the lowest price I can get.   No more room to dicker.

It is a 2012.  1578 miles on it (after I got done putting a few test miles on it.)  Ran perfect.

It is Perfect except for all the dust and bugs I got on it.  It is 110% stock.  It does have a battery tender pigtail.   That's it!  Black.

I liked the idea Deziner put forward.  A 2011 with 10k miles on it  with bars, topbox and seat fixed would be worth more than a 2012 stock with 1500 miles on it.

I kind of agree.  But here is a really big factor.  This bike is 3 miles from my house.  (I'm in Montana)  I'm not at the end of the earth, but you can see it from here!

Not too many 2010 and newer 14's for sale around here.

I won't buy a bike I don't ride.  So if it is in Texas I have to go to Tex and ride it.  Then ride or ship it home.  That around 2K anyway you look at it.

With it being here all I have to do is get my wife to drive me over, have her pay for the bike and I ride it home.  She drives the car.

I REALLY LOVE MY WIFE!

Comments please: How does the price sound.  (no I'm not getting divorced!)  The little lady can stay as long as she wants.

Anyone want to buy a really good 1993 ST1100?

Sounds like a very good deal to me, from what I am seeing.  I'm seeing a ton of 2008s asking for that price and not even any 2010s at that price.  Spent a summer 10 years ago in Bigfork on a Vulcan 1500, so I understand the distance thing... If were ready to buy now, I would jump on that myself.  Good luck!

wcgreen -

You asked how I found the deal that I got on the 2013.  Well, I live half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco, so I have a lot to choose from.  I just watch Craigslist for good deals. I was probably looking for about one month.  I sold three bikes last year using Craigslist also.

The deal that you lined up is as good as you are going to find in my opinion.

Thanks.

Dave

Bigfork is a great place.  I have a lot of clients up there.  The ride from Missoula up the Swan through Seeley Lake to Condon to Bigfork is one of the best motorcycle rides in the USA!

Damn!  What is my bike worth with 30,000 miles on the odometer?  Guess I will have to keep it until I can't ride it anymore. 8)

Sounds like a super deal man, and it's a Gen2. You paid almost HALF of what I paid for my 2015 (registered though), and I got a great deal. Looks like you'll be exercising the Connie quite a bit in Montana 8). Good luck, and congrats.

I can’t help but wonder why someone would be cutting loose a 2012 like that one----at that price!

For starters it's clear they don't ride it much.  Either that or they recently bought it new as a left-left-left-over and just don't like it.

Had been shopping for a Gen2 for several months and would of jumped on that 2012 black one for $7,750, great buy, $9,000 would be reasonable, would of rode from Bellingham to Missoula to pick it up. Three weeks ago paid $11,250 for a new 2013 abs, great compliment to my connie!

Opps, C14, not ZX14r. Have not seen a 2012 C14 for that price advertised anywhere, sounds like a great deal, the low miles is a big plus, you should be able to put a lot of miles on it and keep it for a few years and get your money back if you want to sell it.
Went from a Honda St1100 to the Connie in 2007 when they first came out and have 120,000+ miles on the C14's so far, you are going to be so happy!
