I went on a trip this weekend with a buddy of mine. He has a ZZR600, 2005 as I recall. As we were sitting in the shade chatting I noticed something interesting, to me anyway; the front brake disc rotor carriers were identical on both bikes. The reason I found this interesting is because of the differences in the two bikes:
ZZR600
"Wet Weight": 441lbs
~95hp?
C14
"Curb weight": 688lbs
~125hp?
Now, lets assume the average rider is older, and in many cases, uhm, gravity has a bigger influence on he or she. Could the rotor warping issues that I've read about (although never experienced) simply be down to the fact that this bike is >50% heavier (than say the ZZR600), and likely carry larger passengers?
I've heard the carrier theory before, and it seems to be supported by a change in the part in '11 models (as I recall), but I figured I would toss this out there too.

Interesting observation. I suppose another option would be the 600 has way more brakes then it really needs. Of course, the calipers and pad configuration is also a factor.
Kawasaki is notorious for recycling parts across bikes. The "where used" only shows it on the C14 and the ZX14 though (2007 - 2010). The 2011 has a different part number, which has superseded another different part number (clearly they've been working on it). Also, the picture of the 2011 part shows a completely different carrier design (granted it's a drawing, but still).

ZX-14 is a lighter bike and has the same issue...

A co-worker just picked up a 2011 Ninja 650 and it has the updated front rotor carriers just like the 2011 Concours. Although the two piston floating calipers grabbing them are nowhere near as powerful as the radial mount four piston on the Concours.
