Title: Buying OEM Parts
Post by: mikeeitup on February 06, 2015, 01:51:31 PM
So I WAS going to place an order with motosport.com or whatever today because they advertise 20% off OEM parts and I finally got my paycheck. I added the parts to my cart and whoa! They are more expensive than their competitors site by alot. I talked to a rep and he gave me a load of BS saying Kawi raised their MAP prices so they had to "adjust" as well. Well if it's MAP, then shouldn't most if not all places have them for sale at the same price? Oh well now I don't have a good place to buy OEM parts from. Anybody got a place to get them at a fair price?

I use bikebandit.com but haven't ordered anything for awhile.

Yeah I was comparing them as the "competitor site". I used them before as well until I found this 20% off dealio thing. Now I'm spoiled and whatnot.

Haven't confirmed Kawi parts lately, but OEM parts with a price comparison sample done on 6/6/14 for an '04 RC51 OEM magnesium clutch cover (shipping will vary I'm sure, and 'rewards', etc):

    - BikeBandit.com $118.82
    - CheapCycleParts.com $107.76
    - partspitstop.com $101.32
    - MrCyles.com $100.31
    - Honda East Toledo $94.99
    - Partzilla.com $91.19

Great list; thanks. But don't forget about shipping; some outlets charge abusive fees, and the order could change.

Partzilla's been fast and fair to me. I checked them against a couple others.

I just ordered a knob that adjusts the headlight on the dash from Partzilla. Their price was slightly higher than some other sites, but their shipping was cheaper, so the total cost was less.

I found one site that only wanted $2 for the part, but shipping was $24! The part was $10 from Partzilla, but shipping was only $6.

My best has been ronayers.com.

I always do a comparison with all costs considered before buying.

Bikebandit.com has a 10% discount with an AMA membership. They have always been a good source for me.
