Title: My new ride
Post by: bbroj on January 26, 2015, 05:39:06 PM
It's been killing me keeping this under my hat for over a week! I waited until my friend Chris received a package from me with a gift from my old bike (My old Heli bars that he powder coated). I traded my old '06 Concours for a newer '12 Concours 1400. Kathy found it for me and we bought it to celebrate the completion of my chemo. We bought it in Johnson city at the dealer who sponsored the '14 rally.

Congrats on two levels. Your new C14 and your personal fight!
Be sure to give us a good comparison review about the two Connies.

I'm still trying to figure out how they named that color "red". I love the color, but "root beer" or "metallic chestnut" seems like a better fit! I'm just realizing I need to change all of the info in my sig line!!

I'm still trying to figure out how they named that color "red".

It is the same ridiculousness as their naming the 2008 color "Neutron Silver", which is really a light blue (this is why you see the "Silverdamnit!!!" stuff in postings) ((the 2011 color "Atomic Silver" really is the only silver)).  Color naming is often comical.

Chestnut is close, but see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgundy_%28color%29#Old_burgundy for a much better match.

Outstanding Blaise, that is GREAT to hear! And a big congratulations on the bike too (seriously- that is the lesser news IMO but still, good on both fronts).

Thanks Brian!  I agree the bike is the secondary news, but I'm pretty stoked about the bike too!

Awesome!  Budget some funds for defensive driving class.  I can probably teach it now.  ;)

Congratulations.  Both positive pieces of news are fantastic.  Night and day difference between the two models.  The 14 is impressive, for sure.  That is the best color they have used, maybe not the fastest, but the best looking... ;D ;D ;D  tomp

bbroj,
is that a red Honda CB750 in the back?

Yes it is. It's a '95 that my son rides (we kinda bought it for him). There is also a Suzuki S50 (800cc) Boulevard in the shed that my daughter will be riding and my wife's '14 Honda CTX 700 is behind her (she's taking the picture). As soon as my daughter completes the MSF course this summer, we will be a riding family of 4!

Nice Sig line, bbroj!

Hmmm, I had no philosophical intent when I wrote it, that is simply where I put my last bike's name and I haven't decided on a name for the C-14 yet. Maybe I'll keep it...
