I bought a Givi Maxia 55L topcase with the built in brake light since my Maxia 52 was damaged. I started the wiring hookup but stopped short because the instructions say to splice the + case wire to the + brake system wire but I have no way to be certain which of the two case wires is positive. It happens that the brake system + is blue and the ground is BK/Y and the case connector wires are blue and black but that is probably a coincidence (By the way the wiring diagram in the official shop manual is WRONG (What a shock ;)). Luckily I have Fred Harmon's color wiring diagram which is CORRECT!!!)
I think for a single incandescent bulb polarity doesn't matter but for LED's I don't know. Will I blow something up if I hook them up wrong? I will contact the seller for info but I can hardly wait to see what this thing looks like and thought I might get a quicker answer here.

If you hook up a led backward it wont work. It won't damage anything. Incandescent bulbs don't care about polarity

Thanks for the reply! I can test it to determine the correct polarity without worry.
