¡Bien arrecha, pana! Looks better than the original 2015 on these photos. How did you go about getting it painted. Took the whole bike or just the plastics ? What paint system did they use? Clearcoat? Thinking about doing it but have not picked out a color yet.

Nice!

Gracias Brother !!!!
Only the plastics and the Wheel were painted.
About the technique i'm not pretty sure. i just gave several pictures
to the painter (artist) and he did the job.
he told me something like "pintura en base de agua" but i'm not sure what that mean.
IMO the bike look better than Brand new.
I'm as happy as a child with new toy
Not even my divorce made me so happy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
outstanding.

Nice color. What specific color is it?
Kawasaki has not always been green. Here is what my research found.
It was a stroke of marketing genius when the brand adopted the color back in 1968, developed by the late custom car painter, Molly Sanders, who rightly pointed out that no other brand was using that color. And nobody has since, on or off the road. Not that they couldn’t if they wanted to; colors can be patented.
Molly was a hot-rod and custom bike painter working out of Quonset hut in Brea, California, when he was approached by Don Graves and Paul Collins, a couple of guys from Kawasaki. He’d been recommended to them for a proposal on colors and graphics, that would give the struggling brand some distinction and set them apart from the rest of the Japanese, Molly agreed on the condition that they not just look, but also listen to his rationale. They agreed. A month later, Molly made his presentation to then Kawasaki president, George Hamawaki and VP Alan Masek, with a selection of various shades of reds, blues and yellow. When asked if which of these was going to make a difference, his response was “none of them, but I’ll show you what will,” and brought out what would become Kawasaki Green. Every one of the Kawasaki execs shuddered, but after Molly explained the why, they bought into it and for forty years lime-green has been the iconic color of Kawasaki’s racing and off-road machines. He later went on to do other graphic treatments for Kawasaki, including the radical Z1R Turbo in the late ‘70s.

I like it, have you thought about painting the lower cowlings to match? I think that would look awesome.

It might look awesome for a while but also maybe not.... the plastic there is not painted and is softer and more flexible (it is designed that way, I presume, to absorb more abuse). It might require a special kind of paint and might not last as long as on the other parts without failing (chipping, cracking, peeling, scratching).

Very nice.

I'd be more concerned with FARC than getting across the Darien Gap.

A LOT better than the 2015 color; that's for sure. In fact, I never thought I'd say this, but it's the first green bike I've ever seen that I like. Color goes with the bike perfectly, VERY visible, and much more mature than the 2015 lime green IMO. Awesome job man. Oh, and the 'Kawasaki' on the frame sliders was a great addition. I like how they look now. You have excellent taste sir.

If the '15 would have added cruise I would have been tempted. But then again I am a Kawi' fan. 8) When I bought mine I picked the black over the rootbeer because I had intentions of getting it painted with some sort of green theme. But, since I don't know any painters or designers and didn't want to just look in the yellow pages I have not done it. After seeing the green stripes on the black '15, I may have to play with some vinyl tape on mine.
