Wondering if the torque rods or any other things require maintenance since I have rear wheel off ? I can't find my manual to check. I took a a nail in the tire yesterday so have wheel off now . Thought I may as well do any other things which may need attention other than final drive. Not sure I want to tackle that. Thanks in advance

Torque rods? I usually grease up the splines with moly (both rear drive and drive shaft). I inspect the drive shaft for any issues as well. You might as well check the rear brakes while you're at it.

Just pulled the old pads. They were at about 2.4mm. Question that though. Do I reuse that steel plate and white fiber spacer on the new pads or was that for the stock pads only? It clipped right on
-
Dunno. Can't picture what you are talking about, unfortunately.

Hope this works. Looked on parts fiche and did not see as a separate item
-
Can't say as I've seen that before..but then again, I may not have changed my brake pads on the rear.

You can reuse those if they are in good condition. I did 3,000 miles ago and had no issues.

What are they for, noise reduction, squeaking from pads?

Dunno for sure but the fiber sheet might be an insulator to avoid overheating the calipers/ piston seals. Anyone has a better theory? I did not find them on the front brakes, though.

Yes, reuse them. They're there for a bit of heat insulation between the pads and the calipers. They were a bit tricky getting them to stay together when I reused them on my EBC pads. They didn't seem to fit as tight on the new pads as they did on the stockers.

You may not have? ???
Either you did or you didn't. You might want to write stuff like that down eh, Sunny Jim?

That makes sense. They weren't quite as snug but went on with no issues with the ebc pads thanks

I would but I'd lose that...
