Title: Unhappy with 120-80 fronts?
Post by: dansidecar on September 28, 2014, 12:51:53 PM
Ehh tried lowering the pressure to 30 lbs and helped a lot but not satisfied and was things of switch to the old 110s so I decided to lower front forks buy 12 mm 3 lines showing and keep rears at 30lbs #4 damp increased tire to 36lbs wow what a difference in handling flickable and stable so if u are mad about 120s try lowering fronts and u won't go back to flush

Yeah, you found the trick alright. For some stupid reason, kawasaki chose the 120 tire, but the front rim is only 3" wide on the 94-06, and 120's are spec'd for 3.5" rims. the 110 is spec'd for a 3" rim. I've been running the 110's for about 7 years now, and there's no comparison on the way the bike corners. none of that "riding on a razor" feeling, and no falling into the corners either. Steve

Not sure I understand what you're saying here...

120-80 is not a stock size tire for the front of a C10...'94 and newer came with a 120/70...

Are you saying you lowered the tire pressure to 30 lbs...?

I am running a 120/70 at 38 lbs pressure...and haven't found any unhappiness with it...

Not sure there is a 120/80 that would find its way onto the front of my 2003...but, I may go to a 110/80 next time...

That is... If I don't need to find a 17" front... :)

Yep my mistake 120-70 dunlop roadsmart try lowering the fronts by 10mm easy to do might have to take off tire to make it easier shouldn't take 30 min way flickable and stable
