Title: Automatic windscreen adjust??
Post by: johnryancook on July 09, 2014, 05:08:08 PM
I've noticed that a lot of my windscreen adjustment is to either move it all the way up or all the way down.  A lot of newer cars have automatic windows that will go all the way up or down when pressed to a secondary position.  I was wondering if I'm the only one that would like this feature and if anyone has any ideas on how to do this.  Just a thought I had today while riding, figured I'd throw it out there.  I'm curious to see what you guys think.

Well, you probably shouldn't typically need an "all the way down" setting, since when you turn the bike off, it will do that automatically for you.  That is, unless you find the need to do that while riding; I can say I personally don't ever find myself adjusting more than a few inches on any particular trip.

And if you have a gen2, you can also set the default position on power-on which can be helpful (although I never bothered setting mine :) )

When I'm on the highway I tend to have it up most of the way to keep the wind buffering down, but when I pull into slower traffic or into town on warmer days I like to have it all the way down to get more airflow.  I'm mainly just wondering if I was the only one that thought this would be a good idea.

My shield is all the way down unless I'm in the rain or cold.  I'm considering buying a Gen 1 shield to cut into a shorty summer shield.

seems like a good idea indeed, it would just cost another 2 cents to Kawasaki to put the extra mechanical feedback on the switch. So... forget it  ::)

You won't regret it (if you get summer temps like I do here)... I wish I had done it years ago.
