Title: T-shirts
Post by: nealart on July 01, 2014, 05:07:17 PM
I have an etsy store where I sell original design BMW Airhead tshirts:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/nealart (https://www.etsy.com/shop/nealart)

But, now that I am a new C10 owner and fast becoming a fanatic, I will be drawing up a Concours shirt.

Any ideas for what is the best angle or feature to illustrate would be appreciated.

Or if there is a clever Concours saying that might go good on a shirt...

I wouldn't use it on a shirt, but "No, it is not a BMW." seem to be something I wind up saying a lot.

Haha - If I do that or "Beemer Slayer" type stuff I'll need to stock a different etsy store!  ;D

Yeah.  I have 'that conversation' way too often.  Most recently with a new rider in a group of long time friends/riders with the CB1100F.net group.  The newbie was on a Honda ST1300.

"You're on the BMW, right?"
"No, it's a Kawasaki Concours."
"Really?"

The "Really?" always gets me.  If I was actually riding a BMW, why would I lie and say it's a Kawasaki?  And for that matter, why would I not tell you what I was really riding anyway?  I've really got to get a set of KMW stickers to add to the confusion.

Saw the "Lord of the Bings" t-shirt on your website. Looks close enough to a Concours carb I am going to get one. Maybe have him hold a set of four carbs?

Not to 'jack this thread, but I have had more fun with the KMW stickers than you would imagine.  A couple of years ago a guy riding a BMW came up to me in a parking lot and asked me how I managed to fit that BMW fairing to my Kawasaki.  (He was confused by the KMW roundels in combination with the Kawasaki emblems on the fuel tank.)  I told him THREE TIMES to LOOK at the roundels.  He just could not see it.  I had to point out the "K" in the KMW and that the roundels were green and white and not blue and white.  When he finally "got it" he laughed his ass off, thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen.

As for T-shirts, over on the V-Strom Stromtrooper forum someone had "BMW Recovery Vehicle" T-shirts made up a few years ago, because some have used their 'Stroms to tow dual-sport BMW's with broken drives out of the woods.

For our Connies, how about something like:  Concours - The trailing edge of technology.

I found the KMW stickers.  Pretty cool.

Here is my C10 drawing.  I'll probably print white on black shirts, but maybe some other combination.

Yes it does.  Trying for a play on words implying that this bike is the obvious and inevitable choice for sport touring.

I like the white on black although it would work on dark blue also. I'd buy one!

I have one of this design in a shirt and a mug.

I like the dark blue idea.

I didn't print those girls on a mug, so I hope somebody isn't stealing my artwork, but it happens.

Hey, that's classy and understated - if you make em I'll be a customer.
Just ask that you use a quality shirt....will gladly pay a bit more for it.. :finger_fing11:

I tend to go with Gildan Ultra cotton and people seem to like them.

A small batch of shirts will be here in a few days.

I changed the oil and filter on the C10 today for the first time as a new owner.

I learned that the Fram oil filters have correct o-rings and K&N has o-rings that are too fat.

I also learned that fitting the belly pan on is harder than it should be!

Loving the ride though.

Got my 2x ordered, please notify me if you come up with any more C10 artwork/shirts! Really like the bike, gratifying to have a way to show it other than just riding it!  8)
