I've had my 2013 for all of three weeks. Got my canyon cages in the mail, and made the mistake of reading the threads here in the forum. Originally was thinking "I can do this, no problem," after reading 26+ pages I'm thinking "oh man, I just know I'll screw something up, maybe I need someone who has done this before..."
Anyone in the Dallas area with experience installing these things willing to help? I'll buy lunch or your favorite 12-pack!

There really wasn't that much to it. I scratched up the inside of one of my fairings with the checkering on my socket wrench, but other than that it was pretty easy. Is there something in particular you're worried about?
You've got one of the best Concours mechanics around, Fred, who lives in your area (I think he's still there, anyway). Maybe you can sweet talk him into helping?

I think he's doing this for extra money now. Fred would be a good resource. Not sure if he will do it for free but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Beware the red locktite.

I did mine and one other. Live in North Fort Worth, and have necessary tools. Shoot me a PM if you still need help, and we can coordinate a time. Maybe over weekend.

Beware the big bolts. Just a suggestion but you may want to check the bolts that come with that to make sure they thread easily into standard nuts. Some of the kits supplied have had oversize hardware that will not thread into the engine mounting points.

The bolts that come with the Canyon cages are plated. And oversized for the factory holes. I damaged one of my bold holes and had to have the bike shop drill it out and tap an oversized hole. It added about .001 “ to the bolt and that was all it took to destroy the threads. :'(
They took the plating off the other bolt and it slid right in without issue.
I don’t get the rational to plate everything under the sun, and it his case it probably cost me $150 in repairs to the bike. I like the cages, but the prepping of the forward bolts, EXTREMELY STUPID. >:(
