The Revoltus... I mean Vultus!

Honda's press release writers are really trying to tell you why you should like it though.

Honda's release said: 'Honda announces the new NM4 Vultus, a ground-breaking machine inspired by futuristic machines seen in the anime and manga television and film styles, known collectively as “Japanimation”.

'Created by a young design team who remained true to their original concept at every stage through to production, the NM4 Vultus brings radical style to the streets, with function from the future for a new breed of rider. The NM4 represents a machine capable of crossing traditional two-wheeled lines and reaching out to a wider audience.

'Vultus is Latin for appearance, expression – or face. The NM4 Vultus, with its LED lights, future-shock style and stealth bomber silhouette presents a look that will not have been seen in any cityscape this side of an anime movie…

'Underneath the brooding menace is a rock-solid chassis and engine package. Packed with low-friction technology, its 745cc twin-cylinder engine is canted forward, creating space and a low centre of gravity. Delivering strong low and mid-range power and torque for smooth acceleration coupled with excellent fuel economy, it’s also equipped as standard with Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), giving the rider options between automatic twist-and-go D and S mode – plus trigger-operated computer game-style manual MT mode. Intuitive and easy to use, it adds to the futuristic appeal of the NM4 Vultus and is the perfect complement to the engine’s gutsy, usable performance.'

This is a stealerships dream machine.  Market it to non-mechanically savvy crowd, throw in some ridiculously short maintenance intervals and seal it up tight with body panels.  Sounds like a money making deal to me.  And, yes, that is truly one ugly motorcy..., thing.

zow that is beyond ugly. Article says its a production bike. If they sell more then 100 in the US I'd be amazed.

I think both the backrest and the name of the bike doesn't help it's cause at all.

54HP?  My weed wacker has more HP than that... :loco: :thumbdown   Sorry, I forgot this one...

This, along with the CTX variants, HonDUH is on a roll with just gawd awful looking bikes. They are trying way to hard to be 'edgy'. IIRC the 700 whatever motor is basically a 1.5 liter Honda Fit engine with 2 of its cylinders cut off, as well as a super low (6500?) redline.

Looks like a more modern Morpheus which was very ugly in its own right.

I'm a big fan of the original Valkyrie but saw the new Valk up close and personal at the Honda tent at the Moto GP. Totally fugly. The F6B looks better.

Quote from: Keita Mikura, Project Leader on the (Vultus) model
“..... sometimes we make a certain machine simply because we can and because we want to, not because we 'should'.

That pretty much says it all right there.

And then when it does not sell well, they say "what were we thinking"?  ;D

He'd say " なぜアホ慶太御蔵島はまだ解雇されていない?"

He'd say " なぜアホ慶太御蔵島はまだ解雇されていない?"

LOL! If that translates..."WHO DID THIS? WHO DO I NEED TO FIRE?"  Then I'd say that's right on target.

Never mind, I think Soichiro was still around when they came up with the Pacific Coast.

Hey! Careful now, that was a good looking motorcycle! Maybe a little under powered.

The NT700V was not all that different either.  Hot seller in other countries, but only imported 2 years in the US.  My dad has one that I rode once.  Not impressed.  It is light, but needs to be with only half a motor....

Ah, yes, and so beautiful from other angles, too.

Yeah. Right after I posted that photo I thought someone will post a picture with the clam shell open. ::)

OK, so what is the consensus here? What is the most beautiful (or least ugly) motorcycle ever?

Separate categories for production bikes and concept bikes. Please keep it to street/highway/touring bikes. I like dual sports too, but their styling
tends toward gnarly, and gnarly leads towards macho, and then things just get ugly with measuring devices etc.

I love my Gen II C14, but the looks aren't all that great to me, Gen I was much better looking.
I actually like the looks of the FJR and the ST1300 better than either of the C14s. (some of you are thinking I'm  :loco:)
So which bikes do you find most aesthetically pleasing to the eye? (please totally disregard any other aspect, like power and handling)
Post photos if possible preferably in a color that you think makes it look best (here come the fastest color posts, I can feel it).
I do like the looks of the Pacific Coast, but I purposely didn't post a photo of a yellow one.  :)

This should could be good.
