I am having a hell of a time finding the correct adaptor for the Kuryakyn mini floorboards for passenger. I thought I found a number browsing this site it was 8845 but Kuryakyn does not have this number listed under their splined adaptor options for the ZX14R (they don't seem to have the C14 listed at all but I am pretty sure they are the same). Kuryakyn is saying they discontinued that adaptor and is no longer available. Anybody do a recent passenger floorboard conversion and do you have part numbers?

I used these mounts and arms:
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4695/602/ (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4695/602/)
And these boards and peg mounts.

Gloss Black ISO®-Wing, H-D Style Male Mount (pr) 7563
http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/600/ISO-Wing-Mini-Boards (http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/600/ISO-Wing-Mini-Boards)
I drilled out the arms to accept the peg mounts. Shop around for the Kury items, you can find much better prices.

That's a heck of a nice seat! What is it?
-
Black.
-
Looks like my seat- Rick Mayer...
Highly recommend it if you want to do back to back 8 hour days with a passenger... wife has never once complained.

hey, webnet, that's a beautiful muffler! what is it? ;D

Hey all been doing some browsing on this subject and came across Advanced Sport Touring who I am sure some of you are familiar with. They currently have in production to be ready any day now a mini floorboard plus a lowering bracket using both probably work best. I think I am going to go this route. Instead of piecing together Kuryakyn's with adaptors. Only downside is the Twistedthrottle arms (that you would use with 556Alphas setup) are a bit adjustable so I would lose that ability. Cost overall is close to the same between $250-300 for either setup. $200 if you went with AST without the extenders. For me I like the direct buy everything from one place that is designed to work with my specific bike and it helps the small companies that are working directly to design and supply us with things we desire for our rides. I will report back after receiving, installing, and road testing these with wife on the back. Really appreciate the help I received especially from 556Alpha who worked me through how he did his setup.

omcrider,
the issue my wife had with anything that dropped the pegs lower is her short legs. It wasn't bad for her when the saddlebags were not on, but when they were, the back of her legs were sitting on them.
I went with the 50mm MFW Vario arms and standard pegs and have them rotated to bring the pegs higher than standard. My wife would still like floorboards so at some point, I may follow 556Alpha's lead and go that same route.
-
SVonhof, I may have the same issue with the drop downs as my wife is only 5'2". I can however bolt the floorboards direct to the stock location if the drop is to much. We shall see which way works out best for her. All I know is one of them better work or I am back to square one.
-
Teressa is tiny, short and thin. After 800 miles days I may complain a little but she doesn't. Stock seat/passenger pegs.

She's so tiny she makes a lowered itty bitty 696 Ducati appear HUGE ;D

My wife only hits 5'2" when she has heels on. She is about 5'1" and with the Corbin seat, the stock location was not comfortable and the low ones were out of the question. She originally requested a higher position and I still went and got the low ones thinking it was the solution. Sold those after a very short ride for the ones I have now (based on Alpha's previous setup). The advantage is that her boots don't bother me as they never touch mine since they are now higher than normal.
-
Soryy, I know this is old - but is there an answer to an original question? What is the part number for the adapters for the bike. Wife refusing to go on a longer trip after a 400 mile run, citing the need for floorboards, seat and backrest. Any help much appreciated.

These?

Thanks - I think I should have been more specific. I think OP was asking about splined floorboard adapters, I believe these are the ones in question.

I'm almost tempted to say 8813 is the right one, just because it says ZX-14R, but wanted to be sure... I want to mount these:

Kuryakyn splined adapters only fit the front. If you want to install them on the front, buy the ZX-14 adapters (8813). They should fit fine. If you want to install them on the back, you'll probably need Yamaha FJR adapters (8827) and a couple small washers.

Kurakyn 8845 is what I used on mine and they worked great.

Used with these pegs http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0061R3K4E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0061R3K4E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Just know that these pegs/boards will not stay in the upright position when not being used. Not a big deal for me.

The ISO adapters work fine for the ISO pegs, but the floorboards should use a splined adapters to keep them stationary.

I'm not 100% positive they will work, but I just installed a pair of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Footrest-Foot-pegs-For-Yamaha-FZ1-FZR600-FZ6-FZ6R-YZF-R1-FZ400-FJR1300-/271562864490?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f3a68776a&vxp=mtr (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Footrest-Foot-pegs-For-Yamaha-FZ1-FZR600-FZ6-FZ6R-YZF-R1-FZ400-FJR1300-/271562864490?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f3a68776a&vxp=mtr)
and they use the same exact Yamaha mounting system.
To be safe, buy them from Amazon. They have a no hassle/charge return policy if you aren't happy with them. If they don't work, you can either modify them with a Dremel or return them for a refund.

Passenger footpegs off a C-10 are a direct swap and add a much larger "footprint" ;D
-
I ended up buying the passenger mini floor boards from AST and they work great they even have lowering brackets that work with them if you need them.

You can use the Kuryakyn 8818 Splined Adapters and any board or peg that is splined. They will need to be SHIMMED a little to take up a little gap but a few stainless washers will do the trick. They will be fixed but solid. I will be using MFW arms and peg mounts when they come off backorder. This setup will have the ability to slide the board 360 for more comfort.

THANK YOU!!!

Welcome, the kit comes with two threaded allen inserts for the spline adapter to get the correct position, just remember to get some stainless washers to shim the gap. You may want to grab a stainless bold and nut as well but the stock pin will work, and the insert spacer will be used to correct the hole diameter for the pin. You can see the directions on the Kury website, pretty easy

Thanks for this, this was my only unknown - if I can't make the wife comfortable on this bike for long hauls, I have to sell it and upgrade to something bigger and "better". Her words, not mine. Normally I'd jump at the chance (Victory Cross Country would be my only choice), but I have really have grown attached to my C14, it's my 5th bike and the best so far.

I ordered the MFW Vario arms 50mm and peg mounts but the mounts are on back order with no known delivery date so I went with plan B.
I decided to use the 8818 splined adapters and add the 3" extensions (still need to powder coat them). I did not get the offsets that I will list below so I can only use the rear position of the board splined options. If I was doing all over I would hav bought the offsets to allow many more options. The board will not clear where the arm mounts to the peg mount without the offset. UPDATE:
Just ordered the ends of the offsets so mine will not work in any of the 3 board splined positions, these are not on the Kury website and are only available from them directly.
These are the offsets that will allow any of the three splined positions on the board to be used.

I used these though, only was able to use the rear hole.

This was the result, the arms will rotate 360 degrees so they can be raised or lowered.

This was my previous setup I sold, with regret now. Different Kury boards with the MFW arms and mounts

Those don't look too bad. Are they stationary or do they flip up?
Yeah, you definitely need to powder-coat them. Kuryakyn loves their chrome.
-
I rotated the arms up one position and then the boards cleared. This made it possible to move to the middle position. Better for me as it gives more room and is easier to put on center stand. These are fixed. I only use the boards a couple times a year so if I do not like them for some reason I can take them off during the times.
With the arms now more visible powder coating is a must.
