Title: Denali lights to accessory wires?
Post by: Tremainiac on March 12, 2014, 11:47:39 AM
Is it safe to wire the Denali lights to the switched accessory wires? They supposedly draw .75 amps and I believe the wires are 10 amp fused on an 09.
If they connect to the  + - where does the white switched wire go. Since the accessory wires are already switched, can it, the white wire, connect to positive also?
Sorry if this covered in another link here, but there's a lot that comes up under a search.

I ran My MM10 lights that way. Works fine.

if they are the DX lights on this page

they draw 10w each, 20w total, that works out to a 1.6 amp load.
should be fine.

Got the little ones , DM-micros, that draw 5 watts each. Box says it draws .75 amps so I should be fine there.
Concerned about hook-up before I go snipping the ends off the harness, and if the white wire had to go to a separate line, if I hooked up the ground and positive to the accessory leads, since they are ready switched.
I assume I can just attach it to the positive accessory lead as well.  ???
Electricity/wiring is obviously not my forte' .  :-[
