duh.....
first thing the invetor said was.... "hey, hold my beer.... hey y'all watch this....."
We actually did this back in 95' with the pink Barbi jeeps... I bought one for my grilfriends daughter, and it crapped out, she was 'askeard to drive it anyways.... we took it and another 'version one" (iirc it was a Rat Patroll version) to a local park area with an extreme paved curvy downhill road, and ran them down... with gear on.... till the wheels fell off.... we actually got a couple runs out of them because it was paved, but the crashes were catastrophic.... 8) ;D best part was watching the little girl screeming "go faster Rich...." then the wheels flew off.... :o
we also invented "Amish Boblsedding"... this was in the early 80's.
requirements were:
retro runner sled,(flexible flyer single or double) heavily re-inforced with conduit, high strength bolts, and padded body contact surfaces
full body armor (shoulder, knee, elbow, spine hard armor) padding, w/ full face helmet.
Full body Carhardt overalls, with like 15 layers of insulated clothing...
mouthguard
150 ft of 1" nylon boat rope
1967 Chrysler Newport, 4 door sedan, w/ 440 c.i. 375h.p. v8, green metalic.....w/ 8 track..equipped with 4 studded BF Goodrich truck snowtires, radials at that........
2 feet of snow
half gallon of J.W.Dant 100 proof sour mash whiskey
big balls, and a map of all the backroads the Amish lived on near Parkman Ohio (no vehicals means no cops...heheheh)
we actually got those runner sleds up to 80 mph behind the big Chrysler on those roads... mailboxes were dangerous......
funny how things get misconstrued at 80 mph in a blizzard... 150ft behind the car you could be screaming "slow down, you Basta-r-d"
and the person hanging outta the passenger window watching you tells the driver "he said go faster.... go faster"
ahhh funtimes

oops, Iknow you were gonna ask what was playing on the 8-track...

I had a friend took a dare to stand up in a icefishing sled pulled (rope - no rigid hitch) by an Arctic Cat ZR800. The first few runs where not bad, but the last one at 100mph was just stupid! No injuries, and no crash at high speed. Biggest problem was slowing down. When the rider let off the throttle, tension came off the rope, and the sled got very unstable.

that's exactly where we incurred the most injuries..(both to the body, and the equipment...)
hauling along at 80 mph while being pulled worked great, problems occurred when the car slowed down, with 100 feet of rope, and you ran over the rope @ 80 mph.... only to have the driver gas it in the next currve.... you can imagine the fun having the rope pulled up from behind ya at that speed...
did I mention mailboxes.... ? they shear off like a toothpick when hit by a sled @ ground level @ 80 mph....instant 360's.... if you manage to hang on, and keep within the width of the 2 lane road, you did well..... unless the impact smashed the foot bar to smithereens..
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :yikes:
we spent a lot of time repairing and beefing up those sleds.
