So I was pumped last weekend because it was the start of the 2014 FIM World Superbike championship. I began looking for where I could watch said event....only to find out that the only network carrying it is some kind of English-French sports network that is completely unavailable from my cable provider.
What is wrong with America!? I hate how I live in a country that is so disinterested in two-wheel motor sport that I can't even watch the second biggest cycle racing series IN THE WORLD (arguably second to MotoGP). I'm mean, I have already had to live with guys wearing flip-flops riding their GSXR 1000's with a chromed extended swingarm and people who trailer their touring Harleys to events. It all started when two-wheel Tuesdays on The Speed Channel slowly disappeared over the years.
And don't get me started on Fox Sports 1. They show motorcycle racing as basically an afterthought among all the other crap they show. Football and basket ball are games, not sports.
Anyone else sick of it? Anyone know a way to watch the races?

I agree. Its about money though, well, ratings actually which equal money. Many ride bikes here but won't watch a race. Not sure of the numbers but I would venture to think that cruiser type bikes probably outnumber other types. That's not to say that cruiser riders don't watch races, they do, probably not many would watch a WSB race, not enough to broadcast it and try to sell ad time for. Just my opinions. Unless its got a ball or a stick involved or its NASCAR and you can play or bet on some fantasy type thing, Americans just don't like to watch much bike racing in big numbers.

I remember 2 wheel Tuesdays with 4 days of AMA Daytona coverage, along with World Superbike, MotoGP , Isle of Man, and even ice racing. I also remember F-1, Indy and all the great road racing series for cars on Speed. Oh well, I guess I have to buy a FatBoy Harley with strait-shots, gain 50 lbs, cruise Daytona and watch cars go round in circles instead of great racing.

America is to into rasslin' and NASCAR.
It amazes me during AMA and superbike racing events the spectator portion of our tracks are EMPTY too.
No demand.

I much prefer World Superbike. I'm still incensed over Speed (now something to do with Fox) dropping it. BEIN sport carries it over here but I have to have the super duper premium package on Directv to get it. I think that Dish carries it cheaper... I thought that someone said you can still stream it, though, through BEIN's website... Unfortunately, I think it's streamed live so you have to be online at the right time.

Na$car is and has been experiencing attendance and ratings problems for a few years.
It's no wonder bike racing isn't getting any TV time...na$car is involved in that, too. They don't want to hurt the car ratings.

Can't you purchase that channel specifically without the whole package?

I wish...

Nope, no one does a la carte channel selections. They force you into paying more to get what you want.
