Following the previous war movies I thought about making this thread, but since there are bound to be not nearly as many I figured to combine them:
Vanishing Point
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Bullit
Gone in 60 seconds (both)
Ronin
Death Race 2000
American Graffiti
Fast and Furious series (Tokyo Drift kinda sucked, but otherwise...)
Black Dog
Breakdown

Worst: Running on Empty. Aussie film 1980ish
Best: Mad Max of coarse ;D

best: majority of those you mentioned, timsatx
I would add; White Lightning / Thunder Road / Smokey & the Bandit

Best: Grand Prix
worst: Days of thunder
-
Does Fandango count.. It is about a road-trip?
-
Best: Bullit with Steve McQueen, no argument
-
I just watched "Drive Angry" with Nic Cage. Might be one of the worst ever-the cars are nice though, always liked the Charger.
-
Bullit . I agree is the best. Worst but pretty funny is cannonball run
-
The Italian Job... both... got to love those Cooper's 8)
I didn't know that was a car's film. I just can't get past Charlize Theron... :P
-
worst: RPM
best: cannonball run
HM: maximum overdrive
-
Best = Tie Lemans/White Line Fever
Worst + Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

As far as movies with cars in it, The Fast&Furious series is pretty entertaining. The F&F as car movies? They pretty much suck. But I don't let that stop me from watching them.
My entry, Torque. Which is technically a motorcycle movie. And I'm not going to say if it's on my best list or my worst list. Lol
-
The Fast&Furious series . . . Torque.
Too much CGI.
Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry?
-
Good:
Two Lane Blacktop
Vanishing Point
Monte Carlo or Bust! (Those Magnificent Man in their Jaunty Jalopies)
Mad Max
To Please a Lady
The Great Race
Grand Prix
LeMans
Mother, Jugs & Speed
Greased Lightning
Smokey & the Bandit
The Driver
The Hollywood Knights
Used Cars
Heart Like a Wheel
Streets of Fire
Bad:
Death Race 2000
Corvette Summer
Convoy
Six-Pack
Gone in 60 Seconds
Transporter 2
Good Chase Scene:
Bullitt
THX1138
The French Connection
The Seven-Ups
Freebie and the Bean
McQ
Mr. Majestyk
The Blues Brothers
-
Worst: Corvette Summer
-
Fear is the Key, had a very good chase segment. I do believe they were trying to capitalize on the success of Vanishing Point as
Barry Newman was the driver in both. I'll second everyone that said Mr. Majestik, The French Connection, The Seven-Ups,
The Driver, and of course Bullitt. Ronin was a good as well, but those skinny little European streets give me the willies, especially the ones
made entirely of rounded edge pavers.
-
Best: Bullit with Steve McQueen, no argument
+1
A classic.
-
there are a couple of good scenes in the transporter movies.
-
the blues brothers has some great car chase scenes...i can't even imagine how much all that cost.
ronin- best car chase scenes EVER! while some other movies have their moments, have any of them come close to the ones in this movie? bonus: the rest of the movie is pretty damned good on its own!
-
I like to fast forward to the scene in Vanishing Point where the blond is riding around naked on a bike in the desert.
-
Cannonball- lots of Dodge Charger action + 351 Cleveland powered Pantera
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry- Great Dodge Charger action.
Fast and Furious- Blown Charger
Gumball Rally- 427 Cobra and Ferrari V-12 music.
Mad Max- 1973 Ford XB Falcon 351 Cleveland powered
Heart like a Wheel- crisp injected sb chevy fuel dragster
-
I bet the folks along that street look forward to you driving by.
