Even if there are more people in FLA, with NYC's status as a major eastern seaboard population center and the center-well in their minds at least-of many things culturally, artistically, and media based not to mention a major port and transportation hub, I'd like to think that NY and NYC has nothing to worry about concerning losing anything in the near future, except the American League playoffs. ;D

I'm from western NY , just got back to Florida,
What happen ... they closed all the factory's and moved them to CHINA
Motorcycles are one of the few big ticket items I buy from overseas
Maybe when I'm 75 or so I'll buy a HD :D

The two things I hear most from folks moving here to FL from NY are taxes going higher and higher and gun laws/enforcement getting tougher
Bet the liberal media forgets to mention such ;D

I am about 3 hours away from NYC and an hour from Boston; it is really tough economically here in the northeast US. Taxes are high compared to great amounts of area in the south, wages are high also by comparison (but not as high as the cost of living difference). Plus we have unions and 'closed shops' which make the area unattractive to business. And then there is the whole winter thing which brings with it much higher energy costs as well as the difficulty of dealing with snow everywhere from the front steps, the driveway and all the roadways. So put it all together and it amounts to a lot of people getting squeezed out of the northeast especially but the 'rust belt' too, and all of it is either moving south (population and jobs) or offshore (jobs).

My wife has to go to NYC on business. She can't get a pot of coffee brought to her room until the union guy shows up to bring it. I've been there...once...and that's enough. I like the rest of the state...in the summer.

Lets get back to the girls, all this talk about seattle (due West of me) is depressing. My fav is the lady in the turquoise green, followed by red, black, blue, silver and lastly pink. Were it not for the turquoise lady, pink would ruin it.
