Title: Anyone tried Vario Footpegs?
Post by: stewart on June 09, 2011, 06:34:55 PM
I was just browsing the Twisted Throttle Catalog that arrived with my E55 Admore lighting kits (looking forward to fitting it) and I noticed the Adjustable Vario Footpegs.

Does anyone have any experience with them?

a) I like the adjustable length and angle
b) and they seems to have an ok look

I considered buying them, due to their adjustability.  But they were too expensive for me.  $150 to $170 for set was more than I wanted to spend.

I have them and love them. They are easy to install, material and craftsmanship are first rate, and I really like the fact that they are adjustable. I have the race pegs which don't have feelers on them with the 30mm arms. Given the choice, I would buy them again.

Thanks for the feedback, but do you use them for the rider or passenger? I was looking at them for the passenger.

Rider only, but they have even longer arms for the passenger, 50mm.

My wife is thinking that she needs the passenger pegs to move forward some so she can more easily have her foot on the pegs when riding with the bags installed. These are probably the answer to this, thanks for bringing it up Stewart!  Looks like the rear bracket part number is 051 05 03 10 for the passenger (051 05 03 00 for the rider) for the C14 (pegs and extenders are separate).
Extensions:
Extension for Vario Mounting Bracket, 23mm    051 00 00 23
Extension for Vario Mounting Bracket, 30mm    051 00 00 30
Extension for Vario Mounting Bracket, 50mm    051 00 00 50

I guess it can get expensive with having the 3 different parts all separate...
