What's the consensus on having a different front and rear tire on the bike? No no???
-
No issues with my PR3 front and Angel rear.
-
I'm running a PR2 on the front and an Angel GT on the rear and it's working great so far. I have my free Angel GT for the front once the PR2 wears out.
-
I love PR3's but got a great deal on a set of PR2's. Front and rear did not wear out at the same time so I've put some miles with them mixed up. Currently have PR3 rear and PR2 front.
-
Ok thanks. My back tire always wears out before my front (surprise surprise) so I still have the Bridgestone that came stock on the front and just ordered a PR2 for the back

That right wrist tends to wear them out, doesn't it?

Bite the bullet and get the stone off the front. Did you order a 50 or 55 rear?

I would agree.
I still have the stock front and rear, but when one wears out first, I am going to replace both with PR2/3 at the same time. I have spent enough time with the stock stuff. Plus, my time is worth money; if I am going through the effort of taking it to the dealer, I would attempt to get whatever other services I could cram in there at the same time, even if it costs more money. Having to arrange a way to get back and there, possibly removing the canyons (for other service), waiting, the risk of them damaging something each time, etc.... less trips are better.
That said, I don't think, theoretically, there should be any issue with mixing brands/models of front/rear tires on a motorcycle for typical street use. It would be good to keep it similar for warmup, stickiness, and such, though.

Car tire is OK on the rear but stay with a MC tire on the front. Come winter time go with a siped, studed tire.

:censored: ! Beat me to it....

I got the 55 rear. Will replace the front when I get back from the mountains.

I'm very easy on my front tire... So my typical setup is Pilot Power 2CT in front, and a Pilot Road 2 (or 3) in the rear. With this, I usually have to replace them at the same time.
