Title: BRP run coming up
Post by: George R. Young on September 02, 2013, 09:40:17 PM
Depending on the weather and hurricanes, planning to depart Ottawa Sat. Sept. 7 and head down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cherokee.

Unfortunately, the Bistro 1896 restaurant in Asheville, home of 2-for-1 drinks on Tuesdays (the day I get there) is closed, have to dig up something else.

If you see a slightly dirty red 2001, wave.

If you get off the road around MP 177 stop and say hey to the guys at Willville and grab a cup of coffee. Nice camp and a cabin if you need it. Enjoyed our stay there this june.

I've camped there before, it's a fine place.

I did stop at Tuggles Gap for breakfast.

Big disappointment at Roanoke, the BRP campground Mill Mountain is closed. Makes it hard to stay near Roanoke and dine in the city. Ended up in a $45 hotel on a beautiful dry night, the Skyline on 220 just south of the Parkway.

Lovely ride, back home now.

Glad you had a great ride. Pics are pretty good. Weather does not look to be too bad for ya.
