Here is a PR2 front tire with just shy of 17,000 miles on it. I mentioned this about 6 months ago and finally took a picture.

Unfortunately, your camera was focused on the ground instead of the tire :) You might need to put it in "macro" mode...

My front PR2 is holding up just as well...sitting at about 12,500 miles on it.
Did you have a PR2 on the rear, and how did it hold up?
-
That's the best my cell phone camera can do. I had a rear PR2. The rear was worn a little more than the front, but they were the most even wear out of three tire brands. Bridgestones the front toasted earlier than the rear. And on Dunlop Roadsmarts the rear toasted up earlier than the front. The PR2s are the best for long and even life. If I don't get a decent price on new PR2s I might just try another brand. Maybe the Avon Storm Ultra 2s.

17,000 miles out of a rear tire. I don't care how you ride, that's still great mileage out of a tire on a bike with this kind of weight and Hp.

Best mileage I got out of a PR2 was 25,000 miles, on my BMW 1200RT. That was a rear. The front was on track for meeting or exceeding that.

Man, I must not know how to ride. I thought I was doing pretty good to get 8k out of the PR2s and 6500 out of the Angels. I must need to slow down or sumpin'
-
Or speed up.
-
Yea, Speed Up! the miles tick by faster before the tire can wear out ;D
-
I can't get more than 6,500 out of a rear, maybe I will try to keep my right hand in check............................................ nah! ;D
-
I have 7k on the front PR2 and it is all ready showing sings of uneven wear like cupping and it might need to be replaced before the 10 k
-
17k out of tiires wow. Must be a very tame right hand you have.
3k and my stockers are almost done.

I really don't understand what is so hard about getting good mileage on these bikes. I ride between 85-120 miles oneway to work and never get passed. I find triple digit-speeds out of every commute. I am not brake happy and I don't do burnouts and wheelies at every take off. When I see cops I usually slow down to 80mph. I am on the highway 85% of the time.
-
after wearing out the BT's, I'm on my third set of PR's, and need to change thm this spring....I have no idea how you are making them last so well....
getting 8k for me is a godsend, and I DO use the brakes hard....and the throttle...hehehehehehe

Straight line highway miles are much easier on PR2/PR3 because of the DCT. I almost completely shagged (the sides) of a PR3 in 1500 miles of twisty riding. I did a trip to DC and back (around 2300 miles) and my PR2 looked new at the end of that trip since only 400 or so of those miles were off the slab.

I enjoy pushing the limits of a bike too much to ever get decent mileage out of my tires (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/iconhammer.gif)

I wish I could ride with some of y'all some time. I squeaked out 7500 miles out of my PR2s & tried to get 8000 out of my PR3s but they got to the point where I was scared to ride on them. I've never been a fan of "may pops". ;)
I really wish I knew what I was doing wrong but 17,000 mile out of a set of tires is beyond incredible to me. ;D

This.
Those that get crazy mileage stay on the slab. Get on the twisties and you'll be happy with 4000 miles per rear.

I think some of these guys must ride like a girl ;)
