I started to notice the outside of my shoulders were getting really sore when riding my connie which I just bought in April. I also noticed due to the angle of the bars when I would get done with a lot of continuous shifting / braking, the outsides of my palms would be sore as well. I reasoned these were related, however at first the only thing I could think of would be buying the LSL handlebar conversion kit as no other product seemed to actually change the angle of the handlebars forward.
Someone else here mentioned using tennis racket grip wrap to make their handlebars wider, and I figured it would be worth a shot to try to do something similar to just widen the inside which would in essence accomplish the same thing as pushing the bars forward (at least in terms of where my hands rested on it). I just got back from a 400+ mile weekend and I have to say it works great. By widening just the inside with the soft grip tape there is no pressure on the outside of my hands or my shoulders! It may not look pretty but for $7 it works damn well! Now I have more money to spend on other farkles...

I have made the same observation about the angle of the handlebars putting more pressure on the outside of my palm and have been thinking about ways to fix it. I like what you have done and will give it at try.
THANKS

I did the exact same thing. Bought some tennis racket grip and they work just fine for me. I will take some pics.
