Title: Having trouble picking out a riser block.
Post by: NuckaMan on July 16, 2013, 11:56:14 AM
Which riser blocks are you guys running?

Trying to decide which ones to order. I’m looking to be more upright and my arms more parallel to the ground to alleviate some left shoulder pain when riding long-distance.

Get the 2" risers and riser adapters, or just get the pullback risers.

This is the best you can do without spending $700 for new bars.

I run the 2" Helibar risers and the Murph wedges.  This combo puts the bars in a good location, for me.  My only issue now is that I wish the grips were a larger diameter.

Go get you favorite dirt bike grips and cut the ends off. Soap and water and a little bit of patience you will have what you are looking for.

I just did this with a set of ProTaper grips and now I am happy.  ;D

Interesting.  Are you installing these over the factory grips?  Or in lieu of?

Does this affect the heated grip function?

I put it right over the top of the factory grip, hence the patience. It is not easy but it will work.

And it has no affect on the heated grips.

2" Helibar risers. I'm looking at the AST riser adapters but I have to ditch my tank top storage box to use them.

Look interesting.  Found some reviews online that say they're nice at first, but don't last a long time (pictures seemed to show that the neoprene rubs off due to vibration.)

I'm debating between some Grip Puppies ($12 on amazon) or Murphs grips, personally.

I've tried Puppies and found them to thick. Got Murph's and like them alot. These Buddies don't seem as thick as the Puppies.
