Hi everyone,
I bought myself a 2012 Connie at the back of last year. This is a whole new riding experience for me, always been on sportbikes although have remained brand loyal with ZX6r, ZX7r's and still have my 04 ZX10r. The more I ride the 14 the more I like it and feel it will probably resign the 10 to track use only. Saying this I just did a couple of days at VIR and there was someone on the track with a 2012 Connie, not sure that would be my cup of tea but he said he was having a blast.
I only have a few hundred mile on it but plan to do much more both solo and two up. I have found the seat quite uncomfortable on the highway so have ordered a corbin (with heat at the request of the gf), other than that the only other thing I have changed is added the Kawasaki top box. So I was wondering if anyone has any comments on anything I should be looking for as a new owner, and mods that I should be looking to purchase. I understand many things are personal preference but was wondering if anything jumps out?

Congrats and welcome to the madness.

Congrats and welcome out. We too have a 2001 ZX-6R, which was my love and passion but don't find we ride it that much any longer now that we have had the 2010 C14. Thinking of selling it. Ride safe.

How tall are you? Murph makes a fender extender bar riser and lowering kits. Bundling saves$. Also a bigger screen rocks on long trips. Have 31k miles on one after 3 hayabusa w and a zx12. Connie has good grunt to 80 or so then is far slower than faster bikes. But the wind protection and practicality that I need every ride made me buy a 2012 which I put 1200 miles in in 3 weeks and put my 08 up for sale.... I admit I go weak when I bought the new one.
Also I have found piotroad tired to be a great fit for the bike. Have done 10 or so iron butts and could have easily gone farther. For record I am 6'5 and 265.
Oh and cold days... Hand wings make a nice diff but with heated grips now, ehhh....

Sounds like you mean his torso height, because standing height and torso length and leg length are all not directly related :) (I have short legs and a tall/long torso, for example... so I needed to lower the seat and bike, but could use a taller windshield).

Welcome and enjoy your new bike.
Heated Corbin is a great option, I love mine!
