I have lift stands for my Ninja.....but wondering what is the best way to lift the C-14 to work on it that is stable?
My sears stand does not work ala Goldwing...and the sport bike stands do not work for the gearbox in the rear....so other than a lift table, what is the best/easy way to lift it to remove rear tire...etc.?

I've got a table from Direct Lifts: http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Motorcycle-Lifts (http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/Motorcycle-Lifts)
If I needed something now I'd look at this: http://lifts-and-stands.com/index.php/eazy-rizer-blue-lift/motorcycle-lifts/eazy-rizer-big-blue-lift-detail.html (http://lifts-and-stands.com/index.php/eazy-rizer-blue-lift/motorcycle-lifts/eazy-rizer-big-blue-lift-detail.html)

Centerstand has worked for me since 2008. If you care, some will strap the centerstand to the front tire to avoid the chance of the stand closing.
FWIW, I've had both tire off, used blocks of wood under the front to hold her up.
-
Centerstand.
If you need both wheels off, remove rear first then put the front on a stand (under the forks such as in the pic).
Super stable. More stable than if the front wheel was still on.
This front stand under the forks:

That's what I do.

YOU did not understand the question...I use the stands on the ninja...no problem...but with rear shaft drive Pit bull stands don't work on the rear areas for lifting...don't want a lift table like in the bike shops.....want to raise the rear if I want to work on it...I have no center stand on the C-14......so what is Plan B?

Do like a sportbike and hang the bike using cargo straps and ceiling rafters or a wooden workhorse.
I usually take the plastics off and lift from the frame or subframe when doing this

WTF, YOU did not ask the right question, and then you YELL?
Sorry guys, this kinda thing is one of my pet peaves, blaming others when in fact the originator screwed up.
NW, fix your post and I will delete mine...

Cheaper and easier to modify the centerstand to fit whatever jacked exhaust has been ill-advisedly done to the bike, and bolt the sucker back on. ;)

;D Just tired of ignorance, lost my GAF with the OP some time ago ;) And yet, I still try to help and get yelled at for my (and others) efforts. Just aint right. If he was a noob I could understand, but he aint, so I don't.

I'm in your camp buddy!!! My first thought after his second post was... Ask the right freakin' question! ::)
Perhaps if NW points all his lights to the ground, the power of his millions of lumens will levitate his bike. :rotflmao:

Just be glad that you two guys are about as far apart as you can get in the CONUS 'cause if he was closer his shieldless headlights would be blinding you as well as his posts annoying you.
ROFLMAO two times.
So are you going to answer his question or just continue to be difficult?
ROFLMAO three times.
When I get upset, rubbing my elkhoof calms me down- seeing as you have Mr. Elkhoof's twin perhaps it would work for you too? Or just use it to inflict blunt force trauma on the pavement until the rage is mostly passed.
ROFLMAO four times.
OFFTOPIC: (as if this thread could be damaged) Went to PA this last weekend for a COG function. On the way back got stuck in traffic in NY just before crossing the Hudson. Sitting there a guy leans out of a pickup passenger window and asks where that hoof came from. Beating down the first smart alec response I thought of (from the bottom of an animal) I said Washington state. He then asked what animal and I said Elk- as usual for us easteners he thought it was from a white tail deer that would have to be about 60 feet tall. I gotta' tell you Chet, that hoof is truly the gift that keeps on giving. People point, laugh, are shocked, take photos and all kinds of really funny stuff when they see him on the bike going down the road.

I answered his silly question above - hang it like a sportbike

Like this?

I really think a lift is the best idea all round. I guess if you play with toys like Steve does, you can throw a rope over a beam and hoist it up ;) . The true professionals use a lift.

Hmmm, hung like a sportbike? That just doesn't have much of a 'ring' to it, does it?

I bought a 1,000 LB. capacity air/hydraulic or manual foot pump operated motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight for a little over 300 dollars US. (On sale + 20% off coupon)
I use it all the time, I can usually work at eye level.
I used it to replace my potatoe launcher with a Delkevic exhaust , and I did a radiator flush also.
Awsome tool,
Hope this helps.

Hey, that's Mr. Elkhoof! Is that how you treated him before I got him? Betcha' you didn't ever take him anywhere or even try to show him a good time! Say, why are there two hooves hanging so close.... is that how you make more elk hooves? Are the rear hooves behind the camera in that photo? If you are standing behind his front feet and in front of his back feet, are you standing on..... nevermind.

Perhaps but I betcha' if he did he punched the chad all the way through the card and didn't vote for the same office three times on the same ballot. I mean really, it wasn't Washington state where we got all our best voting humor from now was it?
This thread rocks and I got in before the lock. ;D

yeah, I only have hang the bike when changing rear shock or such, fortunately i have access to stands AND a lift. But in his case with no centerstand, race stands unavailable, and NO LIFT...nevermind you're right anyway (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/badteeth.gif) (http://s80.photobucket.com/user/stevewfl/media/avatars/badteeth.gif.html)

We will be needing the rest of the pictures of this one being tied and hung.

Steve, you really need to do this professionally. I'm sure lots of riders would love to have their bikes done up like some of the pics we've seen.
Yeah, I know I shouldn't be encouraging him, but he does good work.

Then it would be like "work"!? I'll leave that one to the pro's :D

It's not work if you enjoy it, Steve.

I'm guessing this wouldn't work with swing arm sliders installed though right? :-\

So has anyone tried a Eazy Rizer Big Blue Lift on a C-14? It looks like a very compact and portable lift.

ZG,
From the side view it looks like the sliders would not clear the topmost metal supports.
However, if you'd buy one and have it shipped to me (along with some sliders) I'll happily provide you with a full report. ;)
