Hello all, I'm thinking of coming back. I had an 09 (pictured in my avatar) that I sold for a Honda VFR1200 Interceptor. Love this bike but my wrists don't. I have tried two different types of Bar risers and nothing helps. The Concours fit my 6'3" frame perfectly and I had zero issues with comfort. I'm thinking I should go 2010 or newer and was wondering if there are any differences between the 2010-2012? Also, how does the red for 2012 look in person?
Thanks

Like root beer.

Like root beer.
Is that good or bad?

Thinking of coming back, what year and color??
Best year and color is Silver! (Which is 2011, of course)

Nope, not really
Also, how does the red for 2012 look in person?
Not red, but more like burgundy. It is nice.

The Ninja 1000 is everything the VFR1200 should have been if you ask the magazine guys. If you get one, add the 190/55/17 before you get too uppity about speed/rpm.

Not all magazines. I read an article yesterday that compared the Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki and they chose the Honda. I did set on a ninja when I was at my dealer and preferred the seating position to my VFR but I felt like a shriner on a mini bike.

Thanks, but too far with more miles than I want

And that would be one of the only few that would pick the VFR, the only good thing about that VFR is the engine.

FYI. The Ninja 1000 does not come with a center stand and can not be fitted with one. There are no lugs on the frame for one. I suspect the other two bikes in the test are similarly deficient. I like center stands.

Guys, let's veer this back on track with the initial discussion of year and bike color.. We have another board for other bike discussions.

Im pretty sure you mean center stand. Last time i checked every bike comes with a side stand...lol
ok back on topic...I have a 2010, that i bought in 2010, and no there is no change on the 2010-2013. I love my C14, and really like the blue, better than the 2013 blue for sure. Im not a huge fan of red, and if the blue wasn't available i prob would have gotten black. The only thing i don't care for is the linked brakes, but ive learned to adapt.
I had the 2010 VFR1200 before, in the summer of 2011. I thought Id like it more than I did since I had an '03 for 7yrs, but the new engine design was just way too buzzzy for me. No slouch by any means and the brakes were excellent, but just too buzzzy. Also the 1st and 2nd gear restrictions, and tiny gas tank just really turned me off to the Honda. Honda has the know how and technology to have traction control from the get go, and the fact the 2012 bikes had it, really just proved they were trying to cut corners, and hope no one would notice. This just really turned me off to Honda. I now have two Kawasaki's in the garage, with NO regrets!

Thanks CadMan97. I've corrected the error.

I'm 6'2" and it feels like riding a 150hp bicycle compared to the sport touring bikes, but a like most bikes, a few farkles and let the fun begin.

Quite imaginative, yet off the charts weird. Perhaps it explains your popularity here. ;D ;D

The lugs are on the VFR

With a 16K MSRP, that bike should come with the center stand....and hard bags...and the kitchen sink... ;D

At that price I agree. Fortunately, many got theirs when Honda offered huge rebates. Many were bought brand new for under $11k
